You don’t want housing markets to crash but it needs to level out and cool off.

I don’t like the 50 year mortgage either

You went from "luxury fishing resort" to charter lodge at mach 3. You got caught in a lie, cant find a way out so you decided to dig as deep as humanely possible.

Liar. My very first post about it said charter lodge. You got embarrassed trying to be a know it all about Alaska. Fact is there is much more to the state than your shitty 3-2 apartment and dressed up cat. I fully understand you will continue to lie to attempt to save face like you do claiming your dressed up cat was AI and how you didn’t melt over 6k in unrealized losses.

Pathological liar. My man is dedicated to the fairy tale.

you clearly have never been to the nice fishing resorts there

The funny part is there was no reason for you to lie in the first place, no one is impressed with your charter trip.

Hate to break this to you, But Gen X is 45 to 60 years old. Many of us have significant equity in our homes. Crashing home prices would devastate every generation.

Not triggered, but I did type that incorrectly. I'm not above admitting to a mistake, unlike a lot of folks here.

Agreed.

Trump recognizes the desires of prospective homeowners and existing homeowners are obviously very different and wants to find a way to balance those needs.

Or at least wants to placate both groups of people so that neither feels like he is shafting them.

And he's right, of course. If home prices stay up, it benefits existing homeowners. If they fall, it benefits prospective first time homeowners. There's no way around that. Both groups can't win in the same way at the same time on this.

No I don't. And what does this have to do with home prices? Weird response bro.

Stares at current Birth Rates in the US

It might be beneficial to actually get people that can still have babies, the chance to buy homes to house them. As there's a direct correlation between them.

Not if they are lowered proportionate to the higher prices. They'll just cancel each other out.

There is no rational balance in a bubble scenario

The market has been operating with 5+% rates for 3 years now? If we were in a bubble wouldn't it have burst by now?

I think the president is trying to grow wealth and income to increase affordability while home prices stay relatively stable. He has been pretty successful as real wages have grown under his admin.

If you look at median house prices historically we're probably 75k inflated versus straight line pre covid. Over a 30 year mortgage if we can get rates into the 4s (should probably never be below that) it's not a killer.

The biggest problem with affordability is real wage growth. Inflation has killed people because wages haven't kept up. Also deporting a few million more illegals will open up housing.

You oppose government intervention, as do I, so what would you propose he do?
