It might be beneficial to actually get people that can still have babies, the chance to buy homes to house them. As there's a direct correlation between them.

Not if they are lowered proportionate to the higher prices. They'll just cancel each other out.

What are you trying to imply here
SURELY you arent trying to imply that all young couples move to the sticks or live in the ghetto to raise their kids in the most important fundamental years of existing

The biggest problem with affordability is real wage growth. Inflation has killed people because wages haven't kept up
Agree!

Also deporting a few million more illegals will open up housing.
You're removing illegals and replacing with H1B

Is renting harmful for the child?

They are beneath me. No one actively chooses to live in the ghetto.

just to add to this internet showdown, I went through those posts. Having lived in Alaska I have a unique perspective.
Sitka and Juneau are both shitholes.
There is the compromise
Sitka only has Mt. Edgecumbe going for it, while Juneau is tiny, expensive and a "light" version of Seattle.
If everyone is being honest about Alaska, the best place to live in somewhere in the Mat-Su Valley. Palmer on up.
Fairbanks sucks, western Alaska sucks, the north slope sucks, the seward peninsula sucks, most of Alaska sucks. Homer is a hippie/liberal commune with lots of commercial fishing, Kenai is a drug infested hell hole
Scenery is gorgeous though.

I lived the first 9 years of my life in a really sketchy part of Fort Worth. When my parents bought the house it was far from a sketchy area but the gang violence and drug turf wars spilled over to where I lived.
Drive by shootings were not uncommon and there were multiple murders at the park a block from our house.
Finally moved out at Age 9.
Boomers will claim they bought properties in the hood in rough areas with gang violence but fail to mention they bought in the area before it turned bad

quote:How so? I've rented and I've owned. Owning is an "investment" and pays dividends later on and the smartest thing one can do, but payment/taxes/maintenance are more short term (costs are more and therefore less affordable) than renting.
Yes, affordability.

ould you prefer to raise a child in a home or an apartment?

Roger absolutely melted down. He sold his stocks at a huge loss he claimed because of “tariffs.” The guy was melting for weeks on here about his “cabin fund.” Anyway, I’m up over 10% on the year since April. Thanks, President Trump!

I'll rent for the rest of my life before buying a house in a crime ridden area.
Back when I worked in TV and had to cover news stores in ghetto places like West Louisville or South Seattle, that was scary enough. Couldn't imagine living in those places.
