Trump is a master negotiator. He probably doesn’t believe this but he is planting a seed in Putin’s mind. Also this puts Europe on notice and in effect says put up or shut up. This is your problem.

There is a massive difference in negotiating a company merger and international diplomacy.

I have no doubt Trump understands the former, but hes in over his head on the latter.

It was easy to see after the Oval Office Outburst by Zelensky and Trump did not end the War at that time, it was not going to happen. He had all the leverage, all he had to do was tell Zelensky you ate giving up the remaining 15% of the 4 oblast you don't control and the War is over. If you don't, no more Weapons or Intelligence. Zelensky would have signed the documents in 2 weeks after not getting any help
