I love the downvoting. Notice there was no rebuttal though .

I wonder if Rudy thought this was going the other way?

Trump's lawyers immediately appealed Marrero's order to the US Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit, which ruled against Trump during the first round of the litigation that ended up before the Supreme Court. Speaking with reporters on Thursday, Trump said the case will "probably end up back in the Supreme Court."
"Well, the Supreme Court said if it's a fishing expedition, you don't have to do it, and this is a fishing expedition. But more importantly, this is a continuation of the witch hunt, the greatest witch hunt in history. There's never been anything like it," Trump said, according to a pool report.
The New York district attorney's office is seeking eight years of Trump's tax returns as part of an investigation that covered hush-money payments that Trump's former lawyer Michael Cohen orchestrated to two women, Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal, who claimed to have had affairs with the president.

Seriously. Trump announced his candidacy in June 2015, wasn't elected until November 2016, and wasn't in office until January 2017. Given what we've seen come out with Flynn, Page, Papad, Manafort, etc since then, does anyone in their right mind think the Obama admin didn't have the IRS take a harder than usual look at his tax returns?
After what we saw happen at the IRS with people like Lerner, do we really believe the IRS didn't fine tooth comb the shite out of his returns? It's more Strozk shite, "there's no there, there".

quote:It is downright evil to include one of the Honest Bob Grand Juries in this as a back door to Trump's finances.
US Supreme Court ruled in a 7–2 decision that Trump, as a sitting president, was not entitled to absolute immunity against a grand jury subpoena.
The GOP ruling again that yesterday kept Muh Russia open; therefore keeping honest Bob's farce good to go---- made this ruling today easier.

I don’t think anyone thinks he’s a tax cheat. Obama’s IRS would have hammered him. I’m guessing if there is anything to his returns it is who he has made money dealing with...it’s all a guess at this point about all of it.

If it's all legal then who gives a shite? Definition of a fishing expedition to try and resuscitate shite like the Trump Tower Moscow story that shriveled and died years ago.
Seriously. If the accountants committed no fraud, and judging by IRS inaction that seems a pretty solid bet, and Trump has done nothing illegal, again ref IRS inaction mentioned above, then what actual fricking standing do they have to request nearly a decade of tax records.

ZERO chance there is anything illegal on his tax returns. Shady? Maybe, but anyone with that amount of money in real estate exploits any loophole they can... the tax return has been one long troll game by GEOTUS since 2016.
Dems just keep losing and choking down their shite sandwiches.
You bootlickers just don’t get it.
Can you enlighten me, because I don't get it. The tax returns with out financials / internal documents mean ....next to nothing. Unless they want to roast Trump on his charitable contributions ( which he may/may not claim all because it may be useless due to some AMT or something else)

Why is Trump subjected to this BS and all the career Swampers who truly have shite to hide are immune? I want to see Pelosi's, Feinstein's, all of O'Biden's and his relatives, Schumer's, Nadless, McConnell, Sander's, etc. Let's have a hardnose IRS CPA/tax examiner of Trump's choosing audit every member of congress.....we'll go back 10 years on everyone.

IMO this is what Trump's tax returns will consist of. Very aggressive tax planning strategies that result in the IRS saying he underpaid his taxes by "X" amount. Trump then settles with IRS out of court and pays a percentage of whatever that amount was.

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump on Thursday lost again in his attempt to stop New York prosecutors from getting his tax returns, with a federal judge rejecting the president's latest round of arguments challenging a grand jury subpoena.
Too bad he can't appeal to a higher court...
Oh...wait...

I've never understood the allure of wanting to see the tax returns, I don't get what smoking gun will be in there?
Posted on 8/20/20 at 3:50 pm to shel311
the Mueller team had his returns,if anything was suspicious on it ,it would have leaked like a cardboard boat

His base will still vote for him. This isn't the gotcha the Dems think it is.
They will be able to find a gotcha in there, because those things will be insanely large. The idea that a layman will be able to sit down and read his returns is asinine. I have a CPA, and for a living I literally create financial statements, and I would have massive issues trying to glean anything from his returns.
