Chinese pogie boats in Fourchon near Belle Pass are out of control.
How is this allowed?

The Pogie industry catches roughly 950M pounds of menhaden annually off of the Louisiana coast. There is no limit to the amount they are able to catch, just a season spanning from April-November.
The industry’s own published study shows that the bycatch is 3%. That is roughly 28 million pounds of predatory fish taken off the Louisiana coast annually.
I sure hope DJT shuts this industry down.

Would someone familiar with pogy fishing explain what we are seeing here?
Is that sediment generated by the nets?
Or is that actually a mass of netted fish?
Whatever the case, I don’t think you need to be a marine biologist to realize this manner of fishing appears to diminish water quality and compromise the surrounding habitat.

Hold on folks, better think this through.
If there are no more pogie boats, that means no more pogie boat shithouse doors.
How will we be able to communicate something that really stinks, very bad?

Nothing smells worse than pogie fish except for Hillary Clinton's poor feminine hygeine.

Louisiana politicians have been paid lots of money to look the other way for years, imagine that

but sounds like some corrupt Louisiana politicians must've been paid off in order to allow this to happen.
99.9% chance of what is happening.

Sediment kicked up by the fishing boat. They are probably in 4-6 feet of water.

I will be happy to write a check and buy a bunch more MAGA hats if he does this. Please please please.
Both Bushes were huge CCA members but they never even talked about anything like this

Two senators on a key committee have single handedly blocked all attempts to run these foreign boats out of Louisiana waters (like every other state has). Pat Connick and Joseph Orgeron. Both on the take from Daybrook and Omega Proteins.
And the self proclaimed environmentalists are no where to be found on this matter.

I've seen the cost of live bait from Venice to Gulf shores to Pensacola and have heard it's even worse the farther you go south into FL.
The cost of live bait has zero to do with pogey boats.
I’m against them, but good god, do some research before looking like an idiot.

There's so much pressure on our fisheries I don't know where to begin. The pogie boats absolutely wipe out everything in their swath, but the shrimp boats do too. The amount of juvenile flounder on the table on a shrimp boast is insane.
Maybe it would be manageable by just getting rid of the pogie boats.

We need a minimum of 3 mile buffer zone…. They’re killing breeding redfish and doing more damage than gill nets years ago. Hope he does something our state officials could not get done because of the size of the lobby contributions…

Sharks got protected because Corey Booker slipped us the weenie hidden in another bill. You know sharks are a major issue where he’s from.
