How many other top rank Democrats are championing this? As a whole they have moved on to "regulate the shite out of it if it's going to be legalized". And if you read that act, there's a lot of mentioning of that in there.
Imo, it should be legal like tomatoes are legal. Legal to grow, legal to consume, legal to sell, etc.

I'll guarantee you this: Chuck Schumer would not be sponsoring the bill if he didn't know he had widespread party support.

So?
Is there anything they don't want to regulate the shite out of, other than little kids being exposed to graphic gay pornography in public school libraries?
The claim was that Democrats don't want marijuana legalized, that this isn't an issue they support. Clearly that claim is false.

He’s been saying this for ten years. What is there to “look” at?
Either do it with a pen, or don’t.

Ok. Still better than what it is now.
Possession of a controlled schedule 3 substances is a felony in my state, except flower under 20 grams. This changes that none. How is that better, from a legality standpoint

2025 and THC is still illegal for some but, drink up folks.
Look at that Tickfaw boat accident last year when the guy just walked after a year in jail after killing two innocent other boaters. He was hammered drunk. Thousands of people have served longer sentences for having a dime bag in their pocket at concerts.

Its definitely something he could and should do, in order to have more people responsive to his messaging.
Maybe he can convince DeSantis and his wife to stop being such zealous critics of it if it ends up on the ballot again in Florida anytime soon.

But alcohol is -far- superior at relieving the daily grind or the grind that life offers for the vast majority of adults... when the person isn't an alcoholic, and can handle their libations in a healthy way.
How often does someone get stoned and beat their wife?
Now do tequila.

Those 20 grams are a violation of federal law whether they're actively enforcing it or not.

It should be legal to use in private but carry the death penalty for burning that vile shite in public. I hate the smell of dank weed.

This would be a good move. Plus it would change a lot of things for employees that work for companies that do business with the federal government. I rarely support Trump but this would be a smart political move that would cross the political divide.

The only ONLY problem i have with MJ is people smoking it out in the open. I don't want me and my kids to catch a contact high because you want to smoke right at the front door of Buffalo Wild Wings.
I also don't particularly like smelling it all of the time, but I deal with cigarette smoke smell too so I guess I can't complain too much.

You know the alcohol lobby will be working overtime at the state level to make sure it's still prohibited.
Or they would see it as new revenue stream in states where it is legal.
Also, reclassification would not decriminalize it by default. Anabolic steroids, ketamine, codeine, etc. are schedule 3 and still illegal without a prescription.
Yep.
Just opens the door to make money off of it for the grifting politicians, pharma lobbyists, and bearueacrats.

The 2018 Farm Bill legalized THC (the same active substance as in MJ) federally. The folks screaming that it's illegal federally seem to have no idea that it's been essentially legalized already. This is really stupid at this point.

Unfortunately, way too late to overturn my conviction.

The argument that THC Delta-9a doesn't become THC Delta-9 until it's smoked is pretty silly. The feds are currently leaving it in state hands but that doesn't mean the argument has merit. It means that tax revenue is highly addictive.

Full Delta 9 THC is entirely federally legal now in non-smokable form. I am not talking about thca. You can order hemp derived gummies, drinks, chocolates... Online and have it delivered to your house without breaking any federal laws.
My question is why is that legal, and we have this charade of folks saying MJ derived THC is suddenly bad?

great thing about it it would force libs to agree with him and that would kill a bunch of them. Second thought , the libbers would probably now say MJ is bad and should be illigal.
No way, they won’t give up this slice.

When Dems were in power, they were killing it on purpose with the social equity poison pills they would tie it down with, 1) to ensure it would NOT pass, 2) So they could blame the GOP for it not passing. They refused to put clean, simple bills to the floor re: this issue.
Ex: Why do we need a certain % of dispensary owners to be minorities? That shouldn't be tied to reclassification/decrim/legalization. That is another issue entirely. But they tie stuff like that in to ensure any legalization legislation doesn't pass.
My guess is big pharma/alcohol put them up to it. It allows dems to look like the good guys, while still doing Big Corp's bidding.

Good. Schedule 3 means it will be recognized and can be used legally as a medication. I know really well a person that needs it to keep them out of the hospital due to having flares with her stomach and the marijuana helps tremendously.
