Authoritarianism does not work without a cult or extreme oppression. Governors and mayors have neither. And I sincerely doubt that the dems will try to pack the courts, because setting that precedent would result in an extreme reaction by Republicans. It's not worth it.

The most glaringly obvious is the constant attacks on the media. "But but but they attack him!" Yeah that's their fricking job. FoxNews and others did it to Obama, a lot of them do it to Trump. Obama took the occasional jab at FoxNews, but for Trump it has been a focal point since his first campaign. Just a daily barrage of "fake news". And it worked. Truth and lies are determined based on who said it.

Next would be the demonization of the opposition. With the media out of the way, this is easy. Everything bad that happens is associated with the opposing party as a whole. Even if we were to concede that EVERY bad actor was, in fact, of a certain political lean, it's still not right to assume that everyone else supports the bad actors. Don't judge all cops based on the few. Don't judge all liberals based on the few. People I've known my whole life ask why I support this or that boogeyman. I don't. Don't let your dear leader convince you that I'm the bad guy.

So now you have a cult that hangs on your every word as their source of truth, and who fear that people they've known and loved their entire lives may be pawns of satan, you test the waters of sending in federal agents to combat Americans. And it goes very well! Legions of adoring fans celebrate each gas canister deployed, every beatdown of a fellow American, and every person snatched from the streets. They tune in with their popcorn to watch what happens each night. The sneaking suspicion that conservatives were never afraid of the big bad government, but rather the "soy boy" liberals, is confirmed as they bear their arms and give the government backup. A literal child with a rifle who wants to play policeman inevitably kills people, and he is held up as a hero simply because only liberals died.

So now it's election time, but the cult is not quite the majority, but we can use the distrust of the media and the threat of the demons to cast doubt on the whole process. Cheating! Fraud! Dead people voting! Illegals voting! Multiple votes! Ballots thrown in the trash! Just throw it all at the wall and hope some of it sticks. Tell your own supporters to vote by mail, and then try to vote again on election day, "just to make sure the system is working". Then when the inevitable reports of "Trump voter denied right to vote" and "votes tossed out due to duplicate ballots" come out, the cult's fears are validated and a loss will absolutely not be accepted. It will be called a coup attempt, and the cult will once again grab their guns and rush to defend the government from the threat of... democracy. And they always remind you that this is not, in fact, a democracy.




This notion that authoritarians do things like make you wear a mask (the horror!) is absurd. An authoritarian does not piss of his subjects, he convinces his cult that they need him. They are brainwashed to believe that only he can lead them to victory over whatever evil has been conjured in their collective imagination.

I'll give you credit for putting yourself out there.

You really should consider studying some history on authoritarians. They do believe in controlling all media and smearing/demonizing any opposition.

There are many more traits they share, taking of citizens guns, government control of education, health care, history, general taking of freedom of choice, etc...

In nearly every case the authoritarian institutes communistic/socialistic ideologies.

Tell us, what freedom has Trump taken from law abiding legal citizens of the U.S.? Be specific!!!

Who wants more government control of citizens?

Who wants to take guns?

Who has actively censored todays free speech platforms?

Who most wants to cancel our American history?

Who is more consistently demonized? Trump or his opposition?

Who supports the most communistic characteristics? Trump or his opposition?

I can go on and I actually don't expect an honest answer to any of the above, but my point still stands.

Every successful(even terrible) president has a band of loyal followers and every opposing party calls them a cult. You are no different, and in fact it's predicable, you fall right in line with history, even down to the demonizing of those that support the president, it's fascinating to witness in real time.

The Left have already stated their intention to remove Trump at any cost and by any means necessary.

The Left are changing election rules on the fly without the consent of their respective Legislatures.

The Left are running a candidate who is suffering dementia and is as popular as an egg fart on prom-night in the back seat.

The Left are using intentionally bad polling AGAIN to build the false narrative that Captain Christopher Pike is leading Captain James T. Kirk in the election.

Absent fraud, Trump wins going away, period, end of story.
