Admit that a majority of the money was grants to NGO, that it would still allow over 1M immigrants to cross illegally annually and would hamstring any efforts by future administrations to make changes without a law getting passed. It was a horrible bill that needed to be tabled when you could pass HR1 which was much better.
Agree with all this but if he would have simplified it down to the fact the bill included much more than just border issues he could have made the point of one of the reasons it was killed and pointed out another issue of how our govt keeps spending when we need to cut back to get inflation down

IF and only if 5000/day = 'closed'
After that 5,000 the same laws we have on books now would be triggered. Which aren't enforced.
Which means nothing changes except for more money for allied NGOs to receive more funding from the taxpayer to process illegals.
ETA: and that's 5k ILLEGALS. That's their idea, allow 5k instances of illegal activity then carry on with the status quo. It does nothing for legal immigrants. It is nothing more than de facto decriminalization.

I get really annoyed at the missed opportunities in that debate
Why do we need a bill to enforce the immigration laws?
Why did you hide Biden’s condition for 4 years?
Why did you say you would ban fracking and then reverse?
Why did you say illegal in migrants deserve healthcare
Why did you say felons deserve the right to vote?
Why did you support reparations bill?
So many missed opportunities

When HE called his minions in the House and told them to shut it down, and no one denies that except the cult members on this board.

Exactly, his cult members will try to spin it for him

When this was mentioned next Trump needs to talk about how the bill was bloated with spending on much more than just immigration issues and they need to pass a bill that deals only with immigration. or something to that effect.
Trump thought it was more important to defend his crowd size at rallys, instead of telling voters what a joke the immigration bill was.
It was not to close the border, it was to legalize illegal crossings and to hire more border patrols to be the illegals bell hop to make sure they got to a comfortable bed in the U.S.

Or how about... "There's nothing wrong with the existing border laws and resources. The laws need to be enforced and the resources need to be used prevented illegals crossing the border and not assisting them".
How bout dat?

Lol.... Trump didn't kill the bill! Trump isnt an elected member of Congress. He has zero authority.

Maybe you can try demonstrating that the bill would have curtailed ANY illegal border entries.
The fact is the bill did the opposite.$94.460 billion US taxpayer dollars going to non-border crisis-related endeavors.
The remaining 17% of money sucked from taxpayers would go to continued border entry practices.
Why do I phrase it that way? The language in the bill allowed 5k illegal aliens to illegally enter the US per day before a remain in Mexico policy kicked in. Then every additional day another 5k would be allowed. It legally permitted the continued illegal entry of 1.8 million illegal entries per year before measures to halt illegal entry would be curtailed at a scale to be effective.
It may have funded new border agents but their job was not going to be about preventing entry, it was going to be to help process 5k illegal entries per day.
Why do you think Harris is trying to get potential voters to believe otherwise ? Regardless of how many undecided voters there are, she and her advisors/handlers are acutely aware that most Americans are well aware that their open border policies and tolerance for illegal entry are having an adverse effect on our quality of life.

Don’t need bill to fix border. It’s a cheap political ploy…A president has legal obligation to protect border/citizens
Posted on 9/12/24 at 2:15 pm to rwestmore7
There was zero improvement in that shite bill
Zero
Zero

He could’ve done that Tuesday night but instead he decided to hype up his rally crowd size.

Did that Bill stop Biden and the Democrats from flying in terrorists.
Did it stop the democrats from putting illegals in public housing. and paying their rent.
