As someone who knows where Hunduras is on a map, I find your insinuation that living there is beneath humans to be disgustingly bigoted.
What a disgraceful display of privilege.

But how many Americans were even aware or even cared that these Hondurans were in the U.S.

You would do well to take them in your country then. If nothing else they can counterbalance the Muslims overrunning your country.

Yes they are citizens of another country yet are living here taking advantage of our system. Imagine if we took the money we wasted on these illegal aliens over 3 decades and actually used it to invest in our schools or infrastructure? Send their arse back if they couldn’t apply for citizenship and contribute to Our Nation.

What the hell has happened to this once great country? Most of us assumed the virulent anti- immigrant sentiment had dissipated by the end of the 19th Century.

Not reading whole thread...anyone do a cost benefit analysis?
I'm going with + $21.2B. It's just a guess, but close.

I read sardonic comments like this one, and I realize just how far apart our nation is.
VOR, legal immigrants are not only welcome, they’re encouraged to apply for citizenship.
Why you felt the need to make the post you did is a head-scratcher.
But carry on with your stereotypes.

The rhetoric goes beyond illegal immigration. As do the sentiments expressed

These aren’t immigrants. And if you thought the anti immigrant stuff ended in the 1800s I guess you slept they Clinton Presidency, since he ran an anti immigrant campaign. Or maybe you missed Obama claiming the mantle of deporter in chief.
“Americans, not only in the States most heavily impacted but in every place in this country, are rightly disturbed by the large numbers of illegal aliens entering our country. The jobs they hold might otherwise be held by citizens or legal immigrants. The public service they use impose burdens on our taxpayers. That's why our administration has moved aggressively to secure our borders more by hiring a record number of new border guards, by deporting twice as many criminal aliens as ever before, by cracking down on illegal hiring, by barring welfare benefits to illegal aliens. In the budget I will present to you, we will try to do more to speed the deportation of illegal aliens who are arrested for crimes, to better identify illegal aliens in the workplace as recommended by the commission headed by former Congresswoman Barbara Jordan. We are a nation of immigrants. But we are also a nation of laws. It is wrong and ultimately self-defeating for a nation of immigrants to permit the kind of abuse of our immigration laws we have seen in recent years, and we must do more to stop it.”

Those immigrants left their old ways back home to adopt a new way in America.
Today, they don't leave their old ways behind. They bring them with them and to be honest, their old ways don't assimilate very well with our ways.

What bullshite. The vast majority of today’s immigrants just want the American dream and settle in nicely.

American dream
Which is what exactly? The American dream ain't what it used to be my friend. Drugs and crime are two things that my teenage generation had little, if any, problem with. Those two nightmares come to mind.
Now, I sleep with a gun on the nightstand. Why, because some illegals from down south broke into my home about seven years ago.
Assimilation at its best huh?
