Trump likely had no clue what Pai was all about when he chose him for the Chairman’s seat, but Obama should have known better imho. Even if nominations to the FCC are traditionally made along party lines, you can choose a a Republican that isn’t beholden to the ISPs.

Where does that say he was Obama's appointed chairman?
Either he meant that the current chairman of the FCC was initially an Obama appointment to the FCC, which the obvious implication is that he was deemed worthy by Obama of being on the board, or he was confused about which position Ajit was appointed to by Obama.
Either way, the obvious point here is that Obama had a hand in this by giving this guy a seat at the table long before Trump had declared he was running for POTUS.
