He is trolling liberals. They will lose their minds over this.

Other that the fact that it's in San Francisco harbor and it would be a big middle finger to the Soros prosecutors, it would be more cost effective just to send them to guantanamo.

BoP will say that’s a good start, but it would be cheaper if we built this thing here. And Trump will agree.

Decades ago my dad suggested we build a prison in Mexico and pay Mexico to run it. It seemed silly, but I don’t understand why we aren’t doing something like that to Mexican nationals. If you’re a Mexican and you break our laws you’re sent to a prison ran by your homeland.

This is a bad idea due to the potential foundation issues the island has suffered due to anthropogenic climate change and its emergence as a critical sea life estuary.

The old Topaz internment site in Utah would be perfect.....

No. No attempts have ever been confirmed as successful, but the story of the three that made a raft out of raincoats is pretty famous, so maybe that's what you're thinking of.
That was the one. Of course all the movies probably don't help. I mean Sean Connery escaped...

Everyone should be losing their minds over this. The cost would be close to a billion dollars plus the yearly cost of maintenance, transportation, employees. And it will likely be leased out to some private prison company. Is there even a need for federal prison space right now?

I would rather bring back a few psychiatric hospitals.

I don’t know the answer to any of these questions. Maybe it is feasible maybe it isn’t. It shouldn’t cost too much to reopen it. The great think about Alcatraz is it won’t require to many modern security upgrades. The location takes of many needs in that area.

Put them on a cheaply built prison on a barrier island in the gulf and wait for a hurricane to finish the job

Uh... Have you ever been to Alcatraz? 75% of the structures are either badly dilapidated or have fallen down. There are three cell blocks in relatively decent shape, only because they're still standing, but will still need to be demolished if a substantially expanded prison is going to be built. The utility infrastructure dates from the 30's. And it's on a small island surrounded by some of the most expensive real estate on the planet, which will massively inflate costs on its own, as the people that build it, and the people that work there when it's done, will presumably need somewhere to live.

I like how the billions saved by DOGE didn’t matter but now liberals really care about saving money

This will turn into Trump building a domestic CECOT, and I fully support it. I hope he raises BOP guard pay to make it a career job, then we’d have no trouble staffing these places and filling them.
