You're accusing me of having double standards?
As presented here, absolutely. By definition.
I fail to see why that leads to you insinuating that I expect "pure candidates", other than you really like straw men.

quote:Yea and no. Most of the pre-COVID spending increases were to mandatory spending and programs funded under Obama. But, Trump’s record on COVID spending is terrible.
Y’all like to blame COVID for Trump’s spending problems but nothing could be further from the truth.
Trump wanted TO SPEND MORE THAN CONGRESS would allow. Let that sink in for a minute. And he begged Powell for lower interest rates-which on top of the massive COVID spending. Had he gotten it…. it would have caused way more inflation than we had.
Had Trump he wanted everything he wanted, we’d be in a far worse place today.

If Trump said illegal immigration was good for the country you would see them arguing for it.

Without question.
I said it 7 years ago and still believe it, he's the vehicle to force many former Conservatives into supporting Democratic Socialism. The values have been broken down and are being replaced.

I said that the masses believing the non-stop Messaging was a mitigating factor.
Okay, so you give the most powerful man in the world a pass because masses believed nonsense.
I still don't get it. Shouldn't we have higher expectations of our president than to preside for dimmest/softest among us?

To what end?
You act as though there wouldn’t have been insane pushback.
I just shake my head at this. You seem to be arguing that we have no choice but to acquiesce to the Left/establishment. Because it's not just Covid, right? It's all the existential threats and ends of democracy and the weather is going to kill us all.

So shutting down the economy via non-stop riots for years on end would have been preferred?
What?

I think that you are that guy that talks about what you would do, but then would cower in the moment. The classic internet tough guy.
Well, you can think that, while you make excuses for the guy we both elected to represent us that actually did cower in the moment.
Hmm...

You say that you would choose a different path in the moment.
Remind me of something meaningful that the government does well and efficiently. Name it.
We (those of us on the Right) have lost the war when "conservatives" are starting from the position of how much big government makes sense at the moment.

Oh yes, because Roger now says so.

And I suspect you'd call that 'sensible compromise'.

Trump is 77. He's as authentic to himself today as he's always been. His positions in 2024 aren't all that different than late 80's, 90's Trump.
2A when inform of the NRA, wants to sign red flag laws and bump stock bans at other times.
Trump is not consistent on anything. Even Rush didn’t dare claim he was an ideologue. Trump is foe whatever he thinks will help him win. That’s it. Everything else is negotiable. Art of the deal, I suppose.

There's nothing wrong with what he said. He's just saying he ended Ron's campaign before it even began. Ronbots are still as sensitive as ever.

MAGA accepts things from Trump that you folks as individuals would never accept from another politician.
Its like mass psychosis with its own language and is damn near valueless.
Its 100% centered around the name of Trump, its a personality cult. If another republican had been in office in 2020, you folks would have never forgave him or her.
The vessels are listless because the object they orbit moves in irrational ways. Its not based on ideas or values. Its based on trust in a man.

That statement was lucid and spot on.
MAGA isnt an ideology, populism is simply rehashed class warfare at its most basic form.
Hes pitting you against a lot of mythical people. Dont fall for it.
