I have noted that Trump should have done better, but damn, to ignore all of the above as mitigating factors is incredibly disingenuous.
What good is he? If he cant surround himself with competent people, make good choices, stand up to others, lead his party.
When he pushes cas to bail out States and cities.
Its fun to "win" elections, but yall are setting yourself up for perpetual victimhood and nothing ever being accomplished. His victimhood is far more important to him than his accomplishments.

The alternative is literally the destruction of everything "conservatives" claim they care about.
And yet you wouldn't vote Romney over Biden.

I wasn't crazy about voting for Romney the first time around and his stock has gone nothing but down since then. But damn, for SCOTUS alone I'd crawl to the polls to vote for him over Biden.
This is about Trump, nothing more. The rules are never the same for anybody else.

I agree.
Provided the country didn’t fall apart due to civil unrest.
Fear is a very powerful motivator.

Because the media and social media weren’t running hit pieces on me 24 x 7.
So you give the most powerful man in the world a pass because mean things were said about him? Isn't that the Republican version of "but mean tweets!"

Because the CDC / NIH / NSAID / Lancet / AJM weren’t continuously undermining me.
The NIH/CDC are part of the executive branch. Trump's people were running those agencies. When it became clear how totally fricked in the head the CDC had gone on Covid (no later than when the death certificate matching program was announced), he should have done what any chief executive would do when he learned a division that reports to him had gone rogue.

It's not disingenuous. It's just that I'm not swayed by all the excuses that you are.
Take your social media/media point - - - did Trump get a lot of good press by taking the knee on Covid? frick no. Trump could have cured Covid and Cancer and he was still going to get shitty press. The last thing Trump should have been concerned about was what was being said about him in the press/on social media, because it was never ever going to be positive or even fair.

You think I give 2 flips about your values?
Trump is objectively better for the country and that's the bottom line. There are no pure candidates. Stop trying to live in a world where such things exist. Grow the Eff up.

You deep down are a democrat. You just will not say it.
I think the red and white hats must come with instruction on strawman construction. You guys are great at it. I just wish yall were half as good at defeating democrats as yall are at defeating the strawmen you create.
Celebrate where you can I guess?

he needs to get over it, like that dumb song from that disney movie
"let it go, let it go"
"let it go, let it go"

So you're soft and you lie like a Leftist.
It’s just like when the democrat posters yell “racist!l” They think it’s victory, but really it’s a surrender.

Q: How does this help Trump win votes?
A: I like French Fries.
I answered you, you just don’t like my answer.
It's an absurd question. He doesn't 'win your vote', you pick which candidate is best for the country, using the Constitution and policy choices while having at least a room temp. IQ in understanding the world in which we live.
Trump is 77. He's as authentic to himself today as he's always been. His positions in 2024 aren't all that different than late 80's, 90's Trump.
Biden, in contrast, has gone from LBJ level racist to ... well, he's still racist. But he'll flip flop on a dime to get whatever benefit he thinks he can get.
You don't want honesty, you want candidates to lie to you.

It's either projection or an emotional attachment to Trump that requires detachment from reality.

It sucked. It sucked enough to hope that dipshit never gets close to making decisions that can affect me again.
"We" used to want to shrink the government, not make it more activist. Our side is mirroring the other now.

No.
I said that the masses believing the non-stop Messaging was a mitigating factor.

To what end?
You act as though there wouldn’t have been insane pushback.
So shutting down the economy via non-stop riots for years on end would have been preferred?
Again, people are easily manipulated, and fear is a powerful motivator.
Going rogue would have been a fool’s errand. Was it an option, sure, but it was a terrible option in the moment (even though I personally would have approved of it).
quote:
It's just that I'm not swayed by all the excuses that you are.
They are called factors.
When making key decisions, you choose based on the information available to you. You say that you would choose a different path in the moment.
I don’t believe you. I think that you are that guy that talks about what you would do, but then would cower in the moment. The classic internet tough guy.

I would suggest that his concern is how the public perceived things. Their response would be a factor in any decision making. I would say that a leader would attempt to be prudent.
I suppose that we agree to disagree on that account.
