How do you rule one act is 80% legal and 20% illegal when the question comes down to a binary issue of delineated authority?

Either he has the authority granted from that specific Congressional act, or he doesn't.

This isn’t a simple DUI trial. But even those verdicts and judgments have nuance chief.

Bought himself 2 years time to what? Repay all the tariff revenue and cause chaos for 2 years?

There is zero chance they retroactively try to undue what has been so far. They may make the tariffs unconstitutional so therefore “stop them”. It would be like trying to completely undue what was done under the obiden administration. It would be impossible. Quit being unreasonable.

If you vote for me I will forgive student loans.

Look at the prediction markets. They’re going to rule against Trump. The reason he didn’t use these statutes in the first place is that they take time. It just adds steps to the tariff process.

I think you're not looking at this strategically. The administration knows that no matter what, Dems are going to sue.

I remember 4 justices ruled a law was legal based on the arguments presented and 4 ruled it was illegal. The tie breaking vote was that it was legal based on something that neither side mentioned in their arguments.

The Trump administration takes the position that they are not constrained by law or the constitution. Sometimes the courts agree on a specific issue, but often they disagree. The pattern is always to first assert that there is no law or limits. Following the law is the fallback position.

And you people say Trump is stupid. He obviously was able to learn that approach from the Biden administration. Ie...immigration , etc

You people really do ignorantly step it in every time, don't you?!

If I’m a business that is legally entitled to receive X in refunds if the tariffs are ruled unconstitutional, I’m not paying X in corporate income taxes until I’m reimbursed. It’s pretty basic accounting. You’re just moving accounts receivables around the balance sheet
