I spent 35 years consulting to new vehicle service departments around the country and the level of ability to learn technology and the desire to work has declined a lot over the years. High school graduates can’t read very well or do any slightly advanced math and want to make good money on day 1.
Ford’s CEO said yesterday there are over 4000 open technician jobs at Ford dealers alone. Same is happening at all dealers and independent shops also.

Then stop saying all of these deals are going to bring jobs back to America. If they are just importing people to do the jobs.
Bringing in a handful to teach the natives, like China did, is one thing but if you say it's going to bring 500 jobs to a certain area, but 450 are imported then it's just a lie.
