re: Trump/Elon actions eerily similar to Jindal’s destruction of Louisiana

The fast and furious is needed right now. When he did that they were able to see who was still spending and uncovered some of the biggest grifts. They completely caught the other side unprepared with this method and that was the whole point.

Perfect example was the cutting of EKL capacity by nearly 80% only to have Katrina put New Orléans’ LSU charity hospital underwater.
No it isn't.
The charity hospital system was the biggest budget item and full of fraud and abuse.
And what are basically the only 2 things you can cut in Louisiana? Unlike the federal government...Healthcare and higher education.
Where is Trump/DOGE cutting healthcare and higher ed?

Am I missing something? Katrina hit in 2005 and Jindal wasn't governor until 2008.

Yeah...There's a plan and if you dumbasses had been paying attention, you would know. You really think Trump, Elon and the rest don't have a plan? There may be some short term pain, but I'll guarantee you it will be fixed by midterms and shite will be rolling by year 4.

He was head of DHH first...Louisiana's wiz kid who couldn't manage for shite.

Lol a pragmatist. You people that can say “I’m not saying it isn’t necessary, but…..” blow my mind. You contradict yourself immediately. You aren’t a pragmatist you’re a weak fig got

Jindal was in office 2008-16.

The problem is they are simply cutting things with little thought to the long term effects
The problem is the Fed spending and printing money into oblivion.

That’s a lot of words just to admit you’re a welfare queen
In no way, shape, or form am I a welfare queen. Quite the opposite.
I am fine with DOGE existing and with them slashing out waste, but I am not a fan of doing it the way they are because of the unintended consequences just as what happened with Jindal.

You ungrateful pieces of shite have no shame, none
So anyone that thinks doing things right and not making other problems in the long run by being hasty makes one ungrateful. So you are a supporter of Obama and how he pushed through the ACA. Consequences be damned as long as I get my way. Sure sounds a lot like that idiot Jindal.

You're right. Cutting out $100K to the Congo to put on transgender affirming plays in elementary school could produce a whole generation of sexually frustrated Congolese.
Why do you assume I am talking about the USAID scam? I am not referring to that at all, but as usual, you associate any criticism against your guy’s actions to mean it is all bad.

This will probably be the last effort in this country‘s history to slash the federal government, so you have to go hard and fast. Biden bloated fed gov with hundreds of thousands of DEI enforcers. You could get rid of every last one of them, and no one outside of northern Virginia would notice. The purpose of the federal gov is not to be an employment agency.
Biden did massive damage, no doubt, but Trump did a ton in his first term as well. People acting like Trump didn’t push and set up ridiculously wasteful spending is naive and disingenuous.
Government spending has to get under control, but doing it exactly how the other side did will not fix things in the long run.

What unintentional consequences are you referring too? What cuts are you not happy with?
Posted on 2/15/25 at 11:28 am to Geauxgurt
Why don’t you give some examples then

Jindal in his capacity as Secretary of Health and Hospitals under Foster was responsible for the destruction of the state hospital system for doing exactly what DOGE is doing now. He cut for the sake of cutting.
I have more faith in DOGE by far cause Jindal was a complete idiot, but it’s still the idea that cuts made this quickly and much of it for political cache can often lead to significant negative consequences for most of us.
Jindal made things worse as governor, and the state suffered for it.
The point is while cuts may seem like the answer, and in many cases they are critical, if mismanaged or used purely as a political tool, they can have drastic consequences.
