Being a pragmatist, I hate this boomerang stupidity, and trying to do the Shock and awe simply to make it look good, when in fact, it will likely backfire and have massive negative consequences to us all outside of the Billionaires and their families who are insulated from it.
What specific examples do you have to back this claim up?

Excellent example. I can't believe how badly magazis melt when posts like this are made. They're an embarrassment to true conservatives. We don't melt. magazis melt.
Lol True conservatives like McConnell and Cassidy.
Nice cope.

“ Thats more of an indictment on Louisiana and its fatal attraction to government and populism.”
I don’t think it was in Jindal’s case. He did things like cutting taxes WITHOUT making the necessary spending cuts or raising revenues elsewhere. US states can’t print money like the feds. Whether this is analogous to what Trump is doing is a fair and, I say, still open question, but Jindal’s failures were his own. He preened for the national media but failed to govern.

Jindal was too afraid to make cuts. He just kept everything in the budget but didn't have enough money for it all so it didn't get funding. I think Trump will make actual cuts.

He should be asking Congress to pass these laws. Why isnt he doing that?

Trump is doing this mainly via EOs, which have less teeth and judges can block because some of his executive authority regarding a few of these cases is very dubious

I am not saying DOGE isn’t necessary and shouldn’t streamline the government. I, in fact, am all for it. The problem is they are simply cutting things with little thought to the long term effects and are also being like Obama was with ACA. Just passing it to pass it with no thoughts if it would actually help and ignoring how much damage it would do.
Ok, what have they cut do you see causing damage? Don't say USAID bc you and I both know what that organization is. Also, do you know that 30% of ALL federal employees were hired within the last term? Biden created complete agencies of people in his term to increase our budget and deficit. Now, tell me exactly how many govt. employees contribute to paying said deficit back in the for of GDP. Its zero kid.

I'd rather them cut too much than not enough.
And you don't think folks won't be pushing to get the cuts reintroduced?????
Nah, I don't agree with your idea. Also, none of the federal government deserves the benefit of doubt.
If you think setting up committees to review each and every proposed cut will get the job done, that's just silly. This is the best way.

You can blame whoever you want. It’s doesn’t matter. But almost everyone you meet who has “a government job” brags about having “a government job” as if it’s implied that easy work and early retirement are a given. One person I know isn’t even 40 yet and is just milking the clock until early retirement on whatever shitty pension comes with that and they have abused the mental health policy to avoid any real work for years. You can’t tax people and then pay people with those taxes to not do something.

Let's just let the ruling class continue to steal our money so they can become even filthier and richer. Yeah, that's the ticket.
Chuck Schumer. Nancy Pelosi, Maxine Watters, and Hillary Clinton would all LOVE your post.

Charity should have been fixed and reopened. That was a loss. It was a good trauma level hospital and teaching. And they served people who needed them.
