If Trump is a cult, then I am a cultist.

Most supporters of Trump aren't "cultists" - I'm actually a supporter of Trump. I'm simply skeptical that he's the best we can do for ourselves in 2024, and that's because I think he fricked up 2020 bigly. None of that is inconsistent with being a supporter of Trump.

It's the equivalent of OMB cultists but on the OMB+ side of the ledger that are the "cultists". They're real.

You have nothing but disdain for the white working class in flyover country who form the base of Trump's support.

And then the ironic part is that the people above them feeding those with the disdain their ideas think the exact same way about them…….and they don’t even realize it.

Moreover, a substantial percentage of PPP dollars went to big businesses and the wealthy.

By definition it wasn’t available to large companies.

It's estimated that PPP saved 2-3 million job-years. Let's take the high end and add 2 million more job-years to make the math easy. $1T/5M = $200,000 per job-year saved. Hmm...

Like I said, you don’t have to support it. But your analysis is asinine. The economic downturn would have been much longer and more severe.

Perhaps that would have been better than what we are about to go through. But again. Your analysis is dumb.

Do you really want the military full of commies and their urban axis and under leftist control. I'm sure Obama and the demprogs would love to see his effort result in an American General Chavez.

This quote is what gives Trump support. You have nothing but disdain for the white working class in flyover country who form the base of Trump's support. Nevermind the minority ghettos in urban America who leech off the system at a staggering rate and vote for Dems at a 95% clip. Your insult is a perfect example of why no white Southerner or Midwesterner should ever fight for this country. Why die for a political class that despises your very existence?

You are 100% correct and it is EXACTLY the reason black folks do not support Republican candidates despite being extremely conservative generally speaking. Elitist Democrats think nothing of pointing out that poor rural white people are Ill educated and ignorant and elitist republicans think nothing of saying things like “ the minority ghettos in urban America who leech off the system at a staggering rate ”. While there is a thread of truth in both folks are unlikely to respond to such insults positively.

I love the stupidity of posters like you.

It’s funny that you think you should post every thought that comes to you.

By the way. I never got one stimulus check during that time. I never agreed with stimulus checks, but you go ahead with that propaganda bullshite kid.

Just one example. There are many more.

Soho House, the exclusive membership club controlled by billionaire Ron Burkle, received loans totaling $9 million to $23 million by applying for seven loans through its New York, Miami Beach, Chicago and West Hollywood locations. Last month, Soho House raised $100 million from private investors, including Burkle, that gave the company a valuation of $2 billion — equal to its pre-pandemic valuation.

The Lakers got a PPP loan. They ended up returning it when there was a public uproar, but the point is they were eligible for it.

We'd have been better off if Trump's CDC had soberly steered the country and hadn't given governors/mayors politically-driven and largely fake reasons for lockdowns. Then we wouldn't have needed PPP or any of the other Trillions in Covid spending.

And it's hardly asinine to point out how ridiculously inefficient the PPP program was. Are you suggesting that spending $200K per job-year saved (it was more like $250K) is efficient?

I don't think there is any doubt that Trump becoming an advocate for inequitable stimulus payoffs has led to Trump's more establishment, free-spending tone this cycle

I think he's trying to pull his faction away from any real devotion to fiscal conservatism (and in some ways, social conservatism too), but he can't do it overnight. He knows they'll go wherever he leads, but it can't be THAT sudden

I thought the House and Senate both passed the Cares Act with an overwhelming supermajority (96-0 in the Senate), so Trump couldn't have vetoed it, even if he had wanted to. Seems like any blame should be shared by everyone involved, huh?
