This is a terrible argument against Trump. First, when the Federal troughs were opened because of COVID, who can fault any politician for wanting to give more to the citizens who were no doubt impacted by the pandemic? Should it have been managed better to prevent fraud? Yes, but that is not how the Fed govt operates. It just dumps money into the system.

Now, criticizing Trump for his excessive spending in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020 (Non-covid spending) are legitimate areas of criticism, and quite frankly, one of the items that Trump needs to address to pull voters, like me, back into the fold.

Budget deficit by year:

2017: $665 Billion
2018: $779 Billion
2019: $985 Billion
2020: $1.02 Trillion, which was projected before COVID. COVID spending accounted for an additional $2.2 Trillion.

Sorry, but those numbers are simply indefensible. There is no excuse, and Trump needs to address it.
