It's not just about being murdered you fricking idiot. It could be having your car window busted while it's parked. That's an annoyance and inconvenience that I prefer to not endure. The chances of that happening are much greater in the city of New Orleans than other places.

Well in that case, let's list the additional risks of going to the terd bowl city:
Getting robbed
Getting beat by a random homeless guy
Getting my car broken into, stolen, etc
Getting my car ticketed, booted or towed even when no violation has occurred
Shall we continue? You New Orleans defenders can keep on keeping on, but people know its history with shite like above. And it's why people from Louisiana let the tourists have it. It's a shite hole.
