God this would be great. No taxes and I'd be able to retire in 2 more years instead of 9.

Some of you young'ns could retire easily in your early 40's.

Should anyone ask about why the administration is putting all of the eggs into tariffs, which are not enacted by Congress?

Collect $500 billion? Pay down $500 billion of debt, then at same time cut spending by $500 billion.

500 billion is not covering a third of the deficit. Show me where the other 1.2 trillion will be cut from.

You could eliminate 100% of non defense discretionary spending, and still not touch the debt.

We can't send out the $2,000 checks, but we can afford to cut all income taxes?

Tariffs must be the most magical thing ever! $2,000 dividends, paying farmers with tariff money, paying TSA workers with tariff money, eliminating income taxes with tariff money, building the golden dome with tariff money, etc. etc. etc.

If President Trump wants to unleash the American economy, a 10% cut to the top half of the tax brackets would do it.

What about a 100% cut to everyone’s?

When you realize how many people don’t pay taxes this makes sense.
Even if you assume 90% of the country are “net takers” and you vaporize every dollar not for the military, border/immigration enforcement, law enforcement, and Interest on the debt, you’re still looking at something like a $2.5 trillion federal budget. Tariffs currently bring in about $195 billion.

We have to address the massive spending first.

0% chance of this happening.

If y’all are so committed to continue paying income taxes, I’m sure they’ll still accept donations.

If you're so committed to fantasy, keep pretending $195 billion covers more than a quarter of the military budget alone.

You have to cut spending.

eta- no canned response to that one?

When British parliament threatened to raise taxes on the Colonists by 1 shilling, we told them to piss off and destroyed them. How we got to this current point is beyond me.

I’d rather a flat tax over what we currently have now

That way, everyone contributes

The real reason some of these libtards can’t conceive of no more taxation is because it means the end of all of their big daddy govern me harder government programs.

Conservative small government only performs necessary functions such as defense and interstate law enforcement and commerce regulation and none of the monstrosities that we have today.

We should have only the minimal government necessary and that should be as close to us as possible for accountability local > state > federal.
