First of all, hello random user.

Secondly, this sounds like a good number to strive for. Let me check my count today. *Checks profile*
Looks like I've got 16 more threads to make today. I better get crackin' then, hadn't I?

Do I really think what? That he's going to deploy ground forces? Of course not. This seems like obvious sabre rattling. But I think it's worth noting that apparently the Iranians seem to think he's about to invade their country.

Imagine having all the military technology we do and still wanting to put boots on the ground? That’s like running a 1965 business model in 2026.

It'll be interesting to see how many jump in to criticize the source on this.

That's not much of a source...wouldn't you agree?

All of that technology is designed to support the infantry personnel. Everything is infact made by design to support that one job. It can be used otherwise as we’ve seen though.

I didn't think I would have to spell this out. The Tony Stark "don't you know I'm crazy" gif coupled with the Iranian media source was meant to point out that his order to move the extra carrier group and troops to CENTCOM is having the obvious desired effect. He has the Iranians thinking he is actually considering invading their country with troops on the ground. And that is clearly what he wants them to think.
Hence the, "how many people won't understand what I'm trying to say here and will criticize the source of this X post." Using the source was deliberate. Thread highlights the sabre rattling and how it is working.

I don’t believe this
Trump isn’t going to risk American lives unless he feels this is absolutely necessary. One thing about him is he genuinely cares about our servicemen

Prof Pape from Univ of Chicago has been pretty good on a lot of the Iran situation. He mentioned a month or two ago that he has counseled some generals on how insane it is to try and invade and they generally just nod their heads quietly. Anyway, one of his main positions is if Trump is committing those resources, he is going to spend that currency. No bluffs.

So far all Trump has shown us was one kickass operation where they went in and captured another country's leader in about 5 minutes and an extended bombing campaign.
Finally, after months of bombing, he has moved some troops to the area. But look at his history. His entire time in office he has worked to bring troops home from foreign engagements until just now. What he did do though is he postured long enough with Venezuela to prepare that mission and it went off without a hitch.
I wouldn't be surprised to find out they have been preparing some sort of Venezuela style strike operation in the months we have been bombing them and whatever it is they're finally ready to go live with, but I would be VERY surprised if he chose to put thousands of troops on the ground in Iran.
I think the likelihood of that happening are near zero. It would fly in the face of everything he has said and done for quite a long time now.
Meanwhile, the IRGC is probably puckering their collective assholes because just as they're starting to take fire from revolutionary groups from within, Trump moves troops into the area.
That professor is wrong on this. This is almost certainly a "bluff."
