Funny how many people complain about Trump having.
First, he caves less than any President in my lifetime. Gulf of America, anyone? How many Presidents built any wall like he did?
Second, he usually gets what he wants. He always comes in hard (talks about invading Greenland), and the negotiates down to what he wanted from the start.
With illegal immigrants, he knows that taking families that have bèn here 20 years and have kids born and raised here is bad optics, so he goes hard after criminal aliens, and his plan was to get the hard-core criminals and then let the families stay. But the lefties don't know that, so he negotiates the deal with them, which is what he wanted all along, but now, a lot of the hard-core criminals are gone.

A soft touch is needed right now, unfortunately. We have elections every 2 years and the midterms are going to be brutal as it is and an annihilation if things continue on their current track.
Dial things down in heavy blue cities for now and ramp them back up in off year election cycles.
Deportations will still continue on a massive scale throughout most of the country.

He didn't of course. He and Biden both counted border apprehensions as deportations, not interior deportations where ICE steps in. Interior enforcement is way up.

Trump and Homan got Walz to release the illegals into ICE custody instead of being released onto the street. Though it looks like a retreat. The state of Minnesota is now cooperating with ICE.
