I think more of a two for one... he genuinely wanted to commute Santos and took the opportunity to shine a bright light on Da Nang.

There was a fella in court the other day dealing with state charges, the sentence for which was run concurrently with his recent sentence of 7.5 years in federal court…..for possessing materials involving the sexual exploitation of minors. Child porn. And he didn’t exactly have a clean record.

**For context, perhaps. Anecdotal comparison.

Love it. Santos is a great American who deserves freedom. Deep state is absolutely fricked with Trump in charge.

The credit card fraud part is the part I think he should stay in jail for.

But all the political donation shenanigans is such a small scale compared to an Act Blue.

I'm fine with part about Blumenthal. He's a rancid piece of shite. That he keeps getting re-elected says a lot about the voters of Connecticut, and none of it good.

Santos is a wingnut and hard to like, but seven years for what he did was a ludicrous, politically motivated sentence.

Out of curiosity, are there any acts by Trump that aren’t on your shameful acts list? I’m just catching that vibe.

Here's CNN's reporting on it... What I see is that fraud = jail time... then I think of Leticia... fraud, jail time. Maybe the way that news is reporting on this puts the idea that even elected persons can and DO go to jail for fraud. Smooth move.

You guys think wire fraud and identify theft are ok?

But think someone should be locked up for having a second home?

I see him as a Jim Traficant anti-establishment troll type. I don't love this move by Trump, but as I said with Manafort (who I think was a scumbag) -- there are probably at least 1,000 people in D.C. who did/do similar things (Podesta) and nothing happens. The machine protects a lot of scumbags for whatever reason. So, if a goofball like Santos gets let off, I don't care.

Nice twist at the end there... Leticia, nor ANYONE is in trouble for "having a second home".

Stupid, Santos should serve his sentence. Why anyone would defend that guy is beyond me.
