Trump cannot line up full bond in New York fraud case, offers to post $100 million

In a filing with the Appellate Division, a mid-level appeals court, Trump's lawyers asked to temporarily stay the judgment during his appeal, saying he would suffer "irreparable harm" if James were free to sell his real estate assets to raise capital.
The lawyers also said the "exorbitant and punitive amount of the judgment coupled with an unlawful and unconstitutional blanket prohibition on lending transactions would make it impossible to secure and post a complete bond."
They said a $100 million bond, together with Trump's "vast" real estate holdings and ongoing oversight by the court-designated monitor for the Trump Organization, would be more than sufficient to secure the judgment.

I would be shocked if this wasn't enough.

No victims. None. None at all.
It needs to be repeated over and over again when these eye watering fines are discussed.

And don’t forget 10% for the big guy.

James should be pretty frickin wary about taking any actions against Trump's assets. Wrongful seizure is a real thing.

You think these people give a crap about the law? This entire thing was an extrajudicial sham from the start.

Who has the liquid capital to put up a $300m+ bond anyway, Scrooge McDuck?

So is having a Media Microscope shoved up your azz and becoming famous in a way you don't want.
I'd bet a million bucks she has a TON of skeletons in her closet.
What was the advice Auntie Maxine gave about dealing with Trump supporters?

Trump should just get it from the pentagon before it’s cycled back to the politicians.

Well get a piece of wood between your teeth. Here comes the voltage.
You are still looking at this like it was a legitimately unbiased trial.

It’s a damn shame that they take your money just for committing fraud.

How did he commit fraud?
Posted on 2/28/24 at 1:28 pm to Northwestern tiger
It is too bad the appeal bond it can not be set aside entirely. After all, there is a strong 8th Amendment argument to be made.
Crazy world.
Crazy world.

Let’s say he did commit fraud but somehow no one is damaged.
Do you find it ok for DAs to target people they hate and start down a road of political prosecutions?
Do you think all real estate firms are being investigated to the standard of by any means necessary?
You can just be honest and say you enjoy seeing this political warfare. That’s would be different.

The lesson here is that if you are going to commit fraud, don’t also be an absolute piece of shite human being.
