Bill Kristol of course despises Trump and has brought his Neocon gang into the Democrats who he will now support and vote for.
He strongly dislikes DeSantis too, though not to the degree of Trump. He sees DeSantis as the more significant threat to beating Biden and the Democrats next year. So look for him to continue belittling DeSantis and offering faux one eyed wink praises of Trump.
The problem with Kristol seeing DeSantis as the more likely to have a chance of winning is that Kristol is usually wrong on most everything.
Here’s a piece in the WaPo from 2015 (before Kristol and the WaPo joined forces) that details how wrong his political prognostications have been over the years. It’s quite long.

Well, who is the current alpha that has declared their intentions to seek the presidency if it's not Trump? Don't say Desantis, I've watched a couple of his campaign vids where his wife is at the mic and she is without question the alpha in that marriage.
