Very, very cool.
He didn't have to make that call, but he took five minutes to give Covington something he'll never forget.
Damn fine President.

That was fricking incredible for Trump to just take the time to call Colby. TRUMP=GOAT! TRUMP literally walks on water.
He met Colby with Dana White at a rally last week and followed it up with that call. Think pussy OBUMMER would've done that?

What Trump did was show he has a mastery of connecting with deplorables that the political and media establishment ignore at their own peril. The connection we witnessed here brings to mind some commentary I heard from the late Democratic pollster/pundit Pat Caddell back in the early days of 2016 at one of Trump’s campaign rallies in Ohio.
Caddell made an astute observation after describing how Trump held up a baby on stage, as politicians are wont to do. As Trump held the boy up above his head, he commented on the child's stout and stocky build. But instead of saying the baby was destined to be doctor or a lawyer, Trump remarked that the baby was destined to be a future steel worker. And the crowd went nuts.
Caddell rhetorically asked if Trump was pandering to the predominantly blue collar audience and Caddell answered himself “Yes.” But Caddell also pointed out that it shows Trump has an intuitive insight into the aspirations of the so-called working class that Obama and Hillary lacked.
As a building magnate, Trump knows that construction workers and the building trades are elemental to the success of a thriving economy. Further, Trump views these hard-hats with a certain dignity that is lacking from the patronizing attitude displayed by most Dems. That is why Trump is able to connect with blue-collar Democrats.
Now you usually will hear howls of outage from Conservative Inc.® if anyone dares compares Trump to Reagan. Yet Caddell thought this connection is genuine and it indeed reminded him of Ronald Reagan. That was a great insight from a Democratic pollster into why Trump is so able to so connect with the proverbial Reagan democrats in these Rust Belt states.

I loved the look of giddy joy on Covington’s face when he saw an incoming call from the White House.
