Trump might be doing Maher a favor, since so many fans of Maher think he’s gone MAGA, which means he losing his audience. This is how Trump resurrected Jimmy Kimmel. Jimmy was fading from sight, and then Trump made him famous again.

Every word of that post can be true, and yet you still look like a jackass posting like that as the President of the United States.
I'm so ready to be out of the Trump era. I think he has transformed the Republican party in some ways that will be very good when/if we get someone in office who is actually interested in accomplishing things and not just glory hunting for some kind of win he will be remembered for (which is what Trump is doing at this point).

He's not, but Maher has been excoriating Dems on Socialism and Communism. Why not let that ride at least until after the elections. Maybe this is all a ploy by both of them to create distance so the Dems don't think that Maher is MAGA now, I dunno.

Yeah I think in this case when someone has a platform like Maher's you put personal grievances aside and extend an olive branch, even if temporarily. The more people talking about how crazy the Dems are, the better. Now Maher will be talking about how crazy this post was instead.
