This would be awesome! Nothing like leeches being able to vote for property taxes when they don’t own property.

Honest question. Is there any real proof President Trump actually said this?

Good. Our land is not ours until this happens, we are just renting it from the government

I mean, if you don't like having law enforcement and fire protection, or have drivable roads and bridges, and don't want to pay property taxes, you could always just go live here

True, but the BoE gives them mandates (sometimes unfunded).

Dude. Property tax, flat tax, consumption tax. It doesn't matter. The same amount of money is coming out of your pocket, regardless. There's no way to avoid it. Those essential local services you depend on still have to be funded. Or you'll end up just like what's in that video.

Recurring property tax is theft on only the ones who own something. Sales tax gives you the option of not buying something but levels the playing field so everyone pays.

I think Orleans Parish is the only place in the USA that allows you to live property tax free, with the homestead exemption, if the value of the property is less than $75,000.00. Pretty sure they are the only parish in LA that allows for the full deduction, including municipal taxes as well.

So, I'm to assume you think you're smart enough where you just won't consume anything and therefore avoid paying any tax. You do realize that sales tax would have to go up to about 40% to make up for the revenue to fund those essential services, right? I'm not sure you thought this completely through.

Dude

You should see if you can challenge that.

To the OP:
I tried searching and found nothing on this beyond the deductions in the legislation.

If there’s something out there, please add to the OP.

libertarian that supports property taxes. Lol.

I'm not a fan of the federal government dictating how states fund themselves. The taxes themselves would have to be made up somewhere for the states and where would that come from except either. A bigger more in debt fed or higher taxes elsewhere?

That's a state decision, he will never get property taxes removed, IMO.

How states and localities pay for state and local services is no business of the FedGov. Trump is wrong on this one.
