Certainly not “historically bad” for a 2nd year prez

Interestingly enough, Harry enten over at 538 says if approval trends for 2018 continue, it’d be right at the avg of 2nd year presidents.

So his first year had very bad ratings historically, 2nd year shaping up to be decent historically

I credit the tax law and people getting used to the tweets

One more note: generally speaking, presidents best ratings occur first year and then gradually decline. This presidency is following different path.

What is more impressive, this is the third time today he has done it

Still ok to mention it many times, Toddy needs a good cry.

Also his genuine response to the shootings.

Dude is pulling off something special given what he's up against.

I credit the fact that he’s actually a good president.

He immerses himself in whatever tragedy America is dealing with. He doesn’t take the easy way out like most politicians and I think he gets credit for that. He could phone in his condolences or write a letter but he visits hospitals and shelters instead. That’s a big deal.

Fake news. I have yet to meet anyone who approves of the president's job performance.

I still believe the Democrats will take control of Congress in 2019. Then I'll get full snockered with a few nice strong IM-PEACH-MINTS!

For the average citizen, business owner, union folks, law enforcement personnel, military, etc... what has he done that is not to like???

Some may not like his language or the way he conducts himself compared to other presidents but he is getting stuff done and is positively affecting virtually everyone that doesn't make a living off of fear and the U.S. government tit.

You are conversing with people on a message board that supports Trump and his performance by probably 85%.

Do you have to physically touch us to make it real. If so, you got to by me dinner first.

Why do you reference Rasmussen instead of the RCP average?

I think you hit the nail on the head with these. The tax law is great (I just started my higher paying job this week, so I'm very much for this plan), and getting used to his quirks (considering he was never a politician, but rather a business man and celebrity, he's approached things WAY differently than we're used to).

There's some things I wished he did differently, but still. Overall, it hasn't been the doom and gloom everyone trotted out.

I still wish he was a bit more libertarian, but so far he's been more so in a lot of positions than pretty much every president since 1850.
