Ballot harvesting is legal in California. SoCal GOP has been VERY successful with the strategy. The SoCal GOP is the pilot program...the test case to emulate.

IMO, The GOP base has a lot of Evangelical god fearing types of people. They have been taught from a very young age not to cheat and to be nice.
Just doing Rallies are not going to cut it at this point, they have to get down in the Mud if they want to win.
I agree with posts upstream eluding to Trump smoking these F'ers out. Once Trump starts doing it they aint gonna like it one bit.

I will give this some perspective.
Ballot harvesting is illegal in GA.
I believe it was done in 2020 and they got away with it because of COVID. They cheated.
The GA State Legis signed a new voting law in 2021. The goal was to cut down on the mail in ballots and get people to vote in person. This happened.
In the 2020 election there was about 150k mail in ballots in Fulton County GA alone.
In the 2022 election there was only 190K mail in ballots in the state total. 190K mail in ballots out of about 3.5 million total ballots cast.
You need mail in ballots to "ballot harvest" for those who don't know.

No matter the nominee, the GOP nominee needs to support and execute ballot harvesting in states where it is legal. Don't nix a good idea just because Trump is promoting it.
