I actually wouldn't rule out that Trump played a big part and can take a fair bit of credit. Ukraine's whole military platform now rides on Starlink and US intel. They turn it off, and Ukraine falls a lot sooner. Ze is on thin ice as it is with Don, so I think Trump has immense leverage over him.

It’s a holiday in both countries. Ukraine had 8 to 10 million people die in WWII. More than quarter of the Soviet deaths were from the Ukraine. After the Russian invasion they moved the date from May 9th to May 8th.

Kinda doubt it. Most self-identifying Ukrainians treat WW2 monuments like leftists treat Civil War monuments.
They may have lost 8-10 million combined with civilians due to large portion of Eastern battles taking place in Ukraine, but only a fraction of that died fighting in the war.
