Trump and Republicans should give “education reparations”

I think something smart politically and morally right would be for Trump and Republicans to come out for education reparations for descendants of slaves (free college).
I think the country should pay a debt for the wrong that was slavery, and it would honor Booker T Washington and other leaders who put an emphasis on education to prosper. Not to mention how poor the current black community is doing with education, this could be a big help.

They already do. It is called a Pell grant. About $6k per semester. Not a student loan.

We already tried that. It was called BOG, Basic Opportunity Grants. I witnessed the results at USL in Lafayette when I was taking early admissions courses.
The descendants of slaves were all over the campus...except in the classroom. They hung out in the student center, played pool, hit on girls, used drugs and got drunk. After a semester they lost the money due to straight 'F's.
That was the plan. Have a party on the tax payer's dime.
The unintended consequence (there always is one) was that dozens of profs had to be let go at Christmas because enrollment was so much lower in the Spring semester.

Yeah, I think Republicans needs to keep apologizing for about another 500 years or so even though they freed the slaves.
It's the least we can do since the hard feelings about bad stuff that happened to great great grandparents is still keeping blacks from doing well in school and all.
