That's always been my stance that Trump, et al know these things can't be prosecuted and are just giving red meat to the most rabid of their base. Ultimately they're going to say it's not possible, and I'm predicting they'll claim it's b/c of the Biden admin/DEMs destroying evidence and not prosecuting it when they could have (to raise the partisanship and impact on the echo chamber).

The costs of prosecuting these people and failing is far too great, and Trump isn't an idiot. Taking that swing at Obama in particular and missing would ostracize MAGA even further from normal society.

Should be changed to "democrats have immunity for any acts they do, did, and will do".

So we’re going with, “it happened, it was illegal, but the statute of limitations has expired”?

That's my conclusion.

That's why Gabbard said the DOJ will decide on how to proceed.

The 5-year SOL is for most federal felonies

When they signed that letter along with the other morons trying to hide the origins of the laptop, IMO the clock started again as far as a conspiracy goes.

With apologies to Shakespeare, Trey Gowdy is full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

It’s new to the public and does not change the fact they were illegal acts.

That's what Trey said to Hemmer. He said" it is new to you and the audience but not them" ( I paraphrase). And he said that is why McCarthy who wrote a book about it said it is old information.

Update...Oh yes it DID. A continuous seditious conspiracy to hinder the Trump Administration. They lied about the origins of the laptop to interfere in the election. Continuing the campaign launched against Trump during the Crossfire Hurricane garbage,

If any clowns thoughts anything was going to happen to Obama as a result of this, you were kidding yourself. It’s all political theater, just like the Russia hoax was.

With mostly different people, years after the initial overt acts, with nothing connecting them in-between?

How is falsifying intelligence reports to frame an incoming admistration of crimes they didn't commit an official act?

Ignoring your framing, it's the function, not the behavior.

Is the President's role as head of the CIA, NSA, Military, etc. not part of the core function of the Executive?

quote:

No, treason does not have a statute of limitations. This means that individuals can be prosecuted for treason at any time after the crime is committed, regardless of how much time has passed. This is because treason is considered a serious offense, and the government has a commitment to prosecuting it fully.
Federal law, specifically 18 U.S.C. § 3281, states that there is no statute of limitations for any offense punishable by death. Treason is such an offense, and therefore, it falls under this provision.
