Here's the thing: those results actually go up to 44% after the surgery. I will say that sometimes the surgery is the best option, but the diagnosis with getting mutilated are handed out like Pez Dispensers to kids who are simply confused. I'm willing to bet that the number of actual transgendered people that are diagnosed with it truly suffer from it 25% of the time. So I think it's being overdiagnosed 3 to 1. That's the issue is we have these Dr Frankensteins of doctors giving these kids hormones as if they're Skittles. It's ridiculous and you should go through years of screening before being diagnosed with it, and sure as shite shouldn't start hormones in high school, which is why bathroom debate drives me insane.

I think that is a bit easier to coorelate to society. I guarantee that the gay suicide rate is lower in Vermont than it is in Mississippi. But transgendered it's really across the board and actually get worse once you make the transition.

I don't understand how believing one's self to be something which you're not is anything other than a mental problem. I was reading earlier today about glass delusion in which the sufferer believed they were made of glass and might shatter. That's crazy. We would recognize that as a mental issue today and wouldn't pretend people are made of glass so they don't feel sad about being crazy. Forcing others to participate in a delusion doesn't make it any less crazy. I truly feel sorry for trans people as I'm sure it is miserable to feel out of place in their own body. I feel bad for schizophrenic people, too. The difference is we at least attempt to get schizophrenic people help. We don't all jointly participate in their delusions.
