Indeed they can ….but do you personally believe this is necessarily a good long-term business strategy (if the story is true)?
I personally don’t see your average urban progressive voters serving as the reliably dependable Tractor Supply customer base that keeps them humming strong into the future.

Back in 2010, I took a break from the corporate life and started a mobile kitchen business doing corporate catering events, music festivals, big arts festivals, etc.. Most of the festival stuff was weekends and corporate catering for companies like Coca Cola, Southern Company were scheduled on both weekends and weekdays. I set up at a Tractor Supply for lunch on days when I didn’t have something booked. The local management allowed me to set up on the side of their parking lot. I didn’t feed all employees free but did give 50% discount to employees and local LE and Firemen. I did that for 2 years and always wondered when the hammer was going to come down from TS corporate but it never did. I knew they wouldn’t be on board with the liability associated with allowing another small business (especially food service) do business on their property but nothing ever came down. The store manager didn’t even charge me a fee. I finally had my fill of the catering world , sold my business to some guy in Jacksonville FL, and went back to my career.

Who does it need to be explained to? Yours was the 6th post. Nobody in the first 5 posts said anything close to implying Tractor Supply isn't allowed to do this. In fact, a few of them questioned the legitimacy of this guy's claim.

TSC did a 180 on their woke policies after the bud light fiasco back in 2024. They were getting hit hard on social media and the stock took a slight fall so the CEO pivoted and tweeted out cancellation of DEI policies, cancelled pride festival sponsorships, and dropped carbon emission initiatives. I would probably assume this is a bad actor employee or something else is up with this story.

If TSC corporate knows about those and has given approval, then I can almost guarantee that whoever is operating the food trucks, farmers market, and BBQ contest are having to provide proof of liability insurance that also covers TSC's exposure.
Maybe the hot dog cart vendor got shut down by corporate because they didn't go through the proper channels to get approval ahead of time and provide TSC with proof of adequate insurance.

I stop in every once in a while just to see what’s on clearance sale. When tractor supply decides to get rid of inventory, they don’t frick around and you can get good stuff cheap.

fyi, on identical items, I've found RK is 10% cheaper than tsc. Not 9, not 11, but 10%.
