I think the context matters.
He was talking about Arab nations not answering the call to defeat an evil regime. He laid out his case for why it's important and in our country's interest to do so. He acknowledged that calling for military action is, practically speaking, asking the young people of his state in the military (and all states) to go to the Middle East. And that it's unfair to ask Americans to do the dangerous work while the Arab states do nothing.
The clipped quote makes it sound like he's recruiting when that's not the case.

I don't have further comments but, it should be a well-known fact for all informed Americans to know that most if not all of our Protestant denominations believe that the Jewish People are God's Chosen People above ALL other peoples and ethnic groups AND that the USA must strive every sinew and pay any price to make sure that the State of Israel stays safe and sovereign, by any means and methods that the State of Israel may choose.
It's their Religion. Go talk to the local Pastors and you'll see for yourself.
