Old as hell but I have never met even one hippie.
That’s not surprising. Hippies were about 1% or less of the population.
I knew some former hippies, actual lived in a commune, “tune in, drop out”, patchouli incense, and tie dyed clothes type when I was at LaTech in the early 80’s. They actually met in a commune. Had kids with real hippie names like nature and sky.
By the 80’s they were all grown up, turned conservative, and hated radicalism. They really regretted a lot of their decisions before they mentally matured and spoke of their counterparts who had damaged themselves beyond ever being able to mature mentally.

And Boomers still have no idea on why they’re the single dumbest and most loathed generation. An entire generation of selfishness that fricked the previous generations by throwing them in third rate nursing homes and fricked over the future generations by putting their good times on cheap credit that their kids will have to pay off instead of them.

I'm not trying to find generational villains, you are. But I notice how when your ox is gored you turn it from the generation to you, the individual. I was driving a plumbing and electrical service van making service calls by myself when I was 14. Does this absolve the boomers?

well what ever it is you pretend to do for a living son you should have pursued something more lucrative. spare me the you're doing great but it's the rest of your generation you're worried about, nobody who's doing great gives a schit about how anybody else is doing.
if you're miserable look in the mirror the reason is staring back at you.

Like the Boomers selling everything they have to BlackRock, Vanguard, and State Street instead of passing it down to the future generations is more what I’m talking about
So…. What you are saying is that you are upset that Daddy sold his house to BlackRock, bought a nice smaller garden home, and is taking Mediterranean cruises on the difference in principal instead of leaving the family home to you. Got it!
At least you understand that BlackRock/Vanguard/StateStreet pretty much own everything and make all the rules.
What you don’t realize is that the majority of us Boomers were raised in 1500 sq ft Ranch style homes, had 3/4 brothers and sisters. Shared a bedroom with our siblings. Daddy didn’t pay for college for us, so we worked 30+ hours a week while taking a full 15-17 hour credit school schedule. After graduating college, we worked 60+ hours a week so that we could buy a car, pay rent, and save enough money for a down payment on a house. After doing this for 5 years, and saving enough money, we bought a house. When our parents died, they barely had just enough money, and assets, to leave behind to their 4 children that amounted to maybe $25,000 each when we were 60 years old.
You are under some illusion that our lives were easy and our parents left us with a golden life on a silver platter. The overwhelming majority of us worked our asses off to get everything we have kn life.

I guess if you can't use facts to support your argument then you just make shite up to cover your whining about being a failure in life.

quote:So you don't know the difference in credit card debt and national debt? Gotcha - why would anyone even bother with you. But re: national debt, no it won't disappear and it might even be a serious tipping point before we go much less passed down to younger generations. I'm worried default could come soon which is disaster for all of us.
I guess you expect me to believe that this is going to magically disappear when the Boomers die.

I get your point, but why all the vitriol towards boomers? They are still more MAGA than any other group except 50-64, which is partially boomer as well.
I just don't understand all the hate for boomers recently here and elsewhere.
Their cohort did swing blue since 2023, but those were likely moderates that fell for many of the media lies RE Russian appeasement, cuts to Medicare/Medicaid, tariff hysteria, etc... But as I say, that generation is still solidly red, if not fully MAGA.

The only difference is the scale. What our Boomer rulers have done is unforgivable, and yes assuming that you’re a Boomer, you’re not going to have to pay that off, I’m going to have to pay that off as will my children.
