Normally I would agree with you. In this case, Musk has very specific set of skills that our country needs. It isn't always fun, but he understands how and also has the balls to to cut costs like no other CEO alive today. He also isn't worried about the stock price today, because he has been through more ups and downs in the stock market because he has always taken bad press since the start of Tesla. People have literally shite on Tesla since the company was established. In 2019 people were saying that the company was going bankrupt and then a year later it went up over 10x. So, he knows that all he has to do is make better products and then the end justifies the means. If a stock goes down, all that matters is if something in the business changes......If nothing in the business changed, the market will eventually catch back up. This has literally happened multiple times with Tesla. Hell, NVDA was a dead stock 3 years ago, written off.......

.... and I can probably count myself among them...

I think this is a mischaracterization. He's not using Tesla for political purposes.

Everyone was just fine with Bob Iger being a leftist lunatic until he started pushing his lunacy into Disney cartoons and theme parks.

ETA: Anyway, Tesla is a great value stock at its current price point, but if Elon stepping down or being removed gains any traction it will drop like a rock.

Tesla's valuation was never objective or logical.

Yours is the simpleton's take here. Were was this talk when Tesla was $407/share in late 2021 and went to $113/share about a year later? Tesla has been a chaotic stock for the last 6 years, like a lot of tech stocks. But not that long ago it was barely above $20/share and smart investors know that.

Elons priorities have shifted.

That's true, but what happens if he lets the left win on this?

National boycotts of the businesses of every future elected official the left doesn't like?

Say goodbye to businesspeople running for office from now on. It's career politicians from here on out.

(And yes, I know Musk was not elected, the point remains.)

Now, this will get downvoted and that also checks out……any minuscule perception the admin is critiqued is met with immediate scorn. When reason is replaced by self-serving anger/resentment/jealousy/etc, we are ALL lost.

Another “conservative” showing its arse!!

The people rioting, blowing up Tesla cars at dealerships, MSM, etc IS the reason why the stock is down, not ANYTHING Elon has done wrong with the company!

Lol, you act as if you value companies for a living. You might not like it, but companies are valued using a variety of methods. I might think your house is crap, someone else may come along and pay you more than your asking price. You might think it is logical to price bitcoin at zero, someone else might think 84K is a great price to buy. Acting like your logic matters in how stocks are priced is a ticket to crazy town. Maybe you could imagine it is possible that others see something you don't see and their logic is at least as good as yours.

Perhaps some people apply such things properly, while others don’t.

This is exactly what they are trying to do but instead of stepping down from Tesla, they want him to step down from DOGE

A major Tesla investor

So, just a Democrat who happens to have a lot of Tesla stock.

It's pretty notable that this Democrat publicly called for Elon to step down, but did not call for violent attacks against Tesla owners to end. And didn't mention the attacks at all.

Tesla is Elon's brand. Him stepping down as CEO will not change that and it won't help sales.

Cite what he did then. C'mon. state it for all to see.

Trump won, and Elon chose the right horse in that race. That's all.

Virtually all of Hollywood sided with Kamala. Ben & Jerry's is hard core Left. Engaging in politics seems to only be a problem when anyone NOT on the LEFT does it.

Tesla stock isn't at its lowest. It hit $108 in Jan of 2023. It is down from the recent surge, but still at $235 which is not far off from its 2023 and 2024 average sans the big run-up starting in Nov of 2024.

Of course if anyone bought in when it was nearly $500. they'd be pulling their hair out now.

Musk's personal problem in this correction is that his Tesla market was mostly on the dem "liberal" side of the political spectrum and he is now intensively active in the MAGA camp.

Beyond that EV's have their own problems with high insurance rates, brutal battery replacement costs and low resale value.

And depending on the state, you have to pay an EV tax every year.
