This is going to be tough.

The economy is going to take a nosedive while republicans hold congress. Voters will forget why and left will blame congress for everything under the sun.

I don’t think the current red wave will carry that far, and wouldn’t expect as big a red wave in 2024.

Keeping congress for 2 voting cycles is tough. I’d be curious if it’s ever happened.

He's enough of a narcissistic a-hole to announce the day before election day, so I fully expect him to do so.

Pretty sure it happened in both the Bush and Obama administrations

That would be the most stupid thing he could do. Worse than telling Georgia run off voters not to vote because it was rigged. So yeah, he probably will. He needs to stay the frick away, so we can win an election.

Would be such a stupid, selfish thing to do.

He wants to take credit for a red wave, so he'll announce tonight and claim that his candidacy pushed everyone over the top.

That might be the only way to get Democrats to show up and would be the most selfish “look at me” thing he’s ever done. I don’t think it happens.

I doubt he’ll announce before the midterm vote. Him announcing would trigger the left to get out and vote too, which they seem unmotivated to do at this time.

How would this:

quote:

Tonight Trump announces run for President

Do anything at all to increase the chances of this:
quote:

get a republican house/senate for his first two yrs in office
?

Because the GOP is already poised to retake both chambers tomorrow, without a Trump announcement. And the 2024 elections will not be impacted by Trump announcing tomorrow or six months from now.

Can't wait to see the Political PR teams hired by the GOPe inundate this board with Anti-Trump propaganda if he does announce tonight.
