Years ago when we were searching for a house to buy, the house that came in 2nd on our list did so because there was no gas. It had everything we wanted and a bit more than the house we bought. I refuse to cook on electric.

The actual article goes on to talk about induction stoves which are completely different from traditional electric ranges and are marginally more expensive

If gas stoves are ever banned by the cultural Marxist authoritarians I would definitely need an induction range….they’re pretty good.

Induction cooking appliances are electric and are indeed superior to gas or traditional resistive electric cooking appliances. The heat effeciency of electric and the heat control (actually better) than gas. Induction appliances in commercial applications worldwide is outpacing new gas appliances at nearly 2-1 as chefs and restaurants find that the new technology is superior to the older gas appliances preferred for years. Technological advances happen from time to time and of course some people are loathe to change and are fearful of change and some of those people will allow that irrational fear overwhelm them and they will be wont to assume they are being attacked or their way of life is being attacked. It happens to simple minded folks a lot....

To date this is unquestionable but it is changing and changing fast. Induction sales increases are outpacing gas sales world wide in commercial appliances. They are close to or less expensive than gas, far more energy efficient and allow far superior heat control. Many chefs will never change or course just like many writers used typewriters for years after word processing took over but eventually technology replaces almost everything....

This is just the latest battle front of the war on fossil fuels. Nothing more, nothing less. One more way to control you.

A Lamborghini will not make anyone a good driver. A gas stove will not make anyone a good cook. A professional driver will know how to get the performance out of any car they are behind the wheel of. A great cook can turn out a great meal whether it be gas, electric, or using just a damn rice cooker.

I'm all about freedom of choice and if someone likes gas, then great, that's what you should cook with. No one should take it away from you. But some of you are more upset about this gas stove thing than the electric vs gas car debate. I don't get it. In fact, it's gotten more discussion than many far worse things proposed by liberals.

The verdict on gas vs induction has been out for quite a while. No comparison and plenty of videos on YouTube proving induction is about as good as it gets. But like I said, if you like gas, use it. But stop the BS of claiming it's the only thing a good cook uses.

The media lies about things of consequence. They lie in ways that could tear this nation apart. They have the average millenial thinking that 50% of the nation is genderqueer and being white is inherently evil. They are completely propagandized and actively campaign for Republican leaders to be jailed on a daily basis. You don't seem to have much issue with that, but this...

Are you aware that any modern gas stove uses electronic ignition? Same thing for your furnace. Just because it's gas it doesn't mean it will work in a power outage. The blower is electric as well.

Right. That gas range makes a hell of a space heater and water heater when those winter storms knock the electricity out.

Wont this disproportionally affect people of color?

As long as natural gas is available I’ll have a gas range/stove. There has been several times over my 64 years when the power was down in the neighborhoods and my gas range didn’t give a shite….lol

We switched from a traditional electric stove to induction about a year ago. I have to say it’s far superior to traditional electric.

Having said that, the decision on what stove goes in your home should be no one’s business but yours. I don’t care what stove you use. And unless there is a section of the constitution I’m unaware of, it’s none of the government’s business either.

No there isn't.

I've had all 3 and would rank them as induction > gas>>>>electric

They invented propaganda for people like you.

Though in my opinion the gap between induction and gas is small

quote:

And there are some things you can do with gas that you simply can't do with induction

So, you are admitting that there are clear advantages for gas over all 3, yet you still prefer induction.
