If Trump skipped CPAC you would all be saying how "based" he is for "standing up" to the GOPe.

I am convinced that the Anti-DeSantis posts on here are from Democrat operatives bent on a Trump nomination which all but guarantees a GOP loss in 2024. Just remember that many of Trump's "hand-picked" candidates in the last cycle were financed in part by Democrat organizations because they knew those candidates could not win a general election.

The last high profile republican I can remember skipping is Mitt Romney.

I like Desantis but this isn't a good look if he’s trying to convince ppl he’s not on Team Paul Ryan

No you aren't, but nice try. When all you care about is winning, you don't care about what you give up to be nothing more than a cheerleader slut for the globalist oligarchs.

I really dont care if anyone goes to CPAC or not. It's a stupid gathering where everyone beats their chest and declares they are more conservative than the next guy. Who fricking cares?

I want results not speeches. Trump and Desantis both deliver. Ill vote for either in a general election. The rest of this is all theatre.

I could be wrong, but I believe the only Governor in attendance is Brad Little (Idaho).

And?

Why does anyone care about CPAC—no matter who attends? It’s a circle jerk of people hearing themselves talk to a room full of lobbyists and interns. I’ve never understood why it gets the attention it does. It’s a self-licking ice cream cone for beltway people.

Seriously, you wouldn't like to hear DeSantis speak on the issues?

He is doing a Club for Growth counter CPAC speaking engagement but the only problem the venue is only open for people paying thousands of dollars a plate in Palm Beach so we do not get to hear were he stands on many issues.

You aren’t going to hear anything substantive in either venue. Just rah rah bullshite that everyone agrees on.

He isn’t campaigning yet. You aren’t going to get his platform until he declares his candidacy.

Get. Over. It.

Desantis could easily stay neutral concerning Trump. He is being coaxed by Ryan to be never/anti Trump. And it’s going to piss a lot of his otherwise voters off when he’s running on the same MAGA platform.

I see Trump putting out hardcore policy positions day after day. All I hear from the establishment is the “need for new leadership” with no policy.

You think the CPAC is GOPe?

I think that's why you don't understand the angst of Desantis not showing up. The concern is EXACTLY that he's too GOPe and people want him to be anti-establishment.

What is the point of showing up to a freak show where Mike Lindell claims RDS is a "Trojan horse of the left".
