If you want to see squatting get reformed, have an epidemic of it.

If you have a house and you aren't occupying it, then quite obviously you don't need said house. If some enterprising undocumented fellow needs a place to live and is industrious enough to find yours (that you don't really need) and move in... then more power to him. He deserves the house, you don't.

There are groups which are known to take on squatters, especially when they frick with veterans or someone else by stealing the property.
