The Nation teeters over an electoral meltdown abyss, but God forbid any honest Senator would want to pass Law that guarantees an honest and verifiable vote.
“By their fruits ye will know them”. Cassidy will join Thune re not guaranteeing a certifiable vote.

People are demanding Voter ID!!
Did you need see the other tweet? Trump doesn't want any amendment either.
No SAVE Act
$5 billion for welfare for illegals
Billions for NGO, agencies and departments he defunded last year.
$315 million for the anti-American National Endowment for Democracy
Hence, my frick Trump earlier in the thread

Outside of being a lobbyist, has Thune ever held a private sector job?

Thune's a piece of shite.
Yet Trump still glazes Thune and Lindsey Graham nonstop.
It reminds me of when I was in my early 20s and I realized that I cared more about the Saints making the playoffs than actual Saints players did.
All of these Senators now have generational wealth. They dont care as much about the America they leave behind as middle class folks do because their kids and grandkids will all have enough money to live great lives. Its just not worth it to them.
Our founding fathers and revolutionaries were not this wealthy and their kids were guaranteed nothing. They were more willing to put their necks on the line as a result.

So Trump thinks he can get an honest vote via some other strategy? Maybe he doesn’t want a vote…period? Something is up.

snip:
John Thune has held private sector jobs, specifically working as a lobbyist and consultant after his loss in the 2002 Senate election.
The Thune Group: After losing the 2002 Senate race, Thune opened his own lobbying firm, "The Thune Group," in 2003–2004, where he reported $231,222 in income, including $160,000 from Dakota, Minnesota and Eastern Railroad.
Other Private/Nonprofit Roles: Before his time in Congress, he also worked as the executive director of the South Dakota Municipal League from 1993 to 1996.

If tweet fails to load, click here. REP. LUNA: "We got assurances on the standing filibuster...this is an old-school procedure to break through traditional norms to get voter ID passed."
We NEED:
- Voter ID
- Citizenship requirement
IT'S NOT NEGOTIABLE!

If tweet fails to load, click here. In exchange, Luna and Rep. Tim Burchett are backing the funding bill advancing
A "standing filibuster" means 50 VOTES are needed after senators finish debate
Traditionally, if you wanted to force a 60-vote requirement, senators actually had to SHOW UP and debate until they couldn't any longer
The "Zombie Filibuster" right now mean senators don't have to stand and debate. @BasedMikeLee has been pushing for this

bullshite. Pass it with the Save Act or not at all.
Posted on 2/2/26 at 7:10 pm to Ailsa
Nancy Pelosi would burn this mother fricker down to get what she wanted. Thune runs and hides.
This is why Trump won

I agree with this. Quit bundling completely unrelated bills into packages and vote on them individually.
The SAVE act is important, but it's stupid to hold other important legislation, such as government funding, hostage for it.

Only this time it is a GOP leader in the senate. So disgusted with the whole lot of them in the senate.
Y’all should have known this was coming when Turtle installed Thune as his replacement. They are the GOPe/uniparty/Deep State backstop to Trump’s agenda. It was always going to be this way. I’m surprised they haven’t been worse. Probably will get worse headed into mid-terms.

Trump is dealing with the cards he was dealt. If he wants any meaningful policy passed at all, he’s got to play ball with these GOPe slimy weasels.

He is certainly playing them under the guise it can be cleaned up later. Thune's response regarding the filibuster is certainly a sign "something is up"!!
