1) He presented himself as somewhat electable
2) Trump didn’t win any new votes
3) This gives his campaign a reason to back out of future debates. “Who wants to watch that again”

All Trump had to do was let Joe Speak so people can see how all over the place he is. Instead he kept interrupting him and we never got a chance to see Dementia Joe

Trump had him pinned in the corner a couple times and Wallace stopped the fight.

A lot of posters spotted that, it's so true.

Yes, because his plan is to shut this country down again. What exactly is electable about that?

The vast majority of people who were "undecided" going into tonight aren't going to vote.

You can argue Trump didn't either (and perhaps be 100% correct), but there was absolutely nothing electable about someone so senile and confused. And part of incumbent advantage is being "the devil we know," so among two unelectable candidates, that's not an L for Trump.

2) Trump didn’t win any new votes
He also didn't lose any. This was however many moderate/Trump-hating independents introduction to 2020 Biden. He's going to drop in favor of 3rd party/sitting out, which is a Trump victory.

This was always going to be the argument regardless of the particulars of tonight. Biden embarassing Trump across the spectrum would be the only reason to vouch for more and that was never, ever going to happen.

What won you over?

His stance on Law & Order, Green New Deal, or his denial of Hunter getting kicked out of the military and taking illegal money.

Biden was all over the place. At one point he endorsed GND and Wallace had to correct him. It could certainly be argued he lost some far left support tonight.

Trump was Trump. Not sure why anyone expected different.

Yeah. Trump had him in a good spot for Joe to ramble it out but he just couldnt let him do it.

I dont think Biden won at all, but Trump didnt do himself any favors tonight.
