Roland the headless Thompson gunner by Warren zevon is a song about it. Great tune
I actually heard that song for the first time several weeks ago while in my moms car. She has satellite radio so I was able to listen to it several times, which led me to looking up what went on during that time.

Man was an incredible musician, and really intelligent. Much of his work seemlessly blended catchy toons with dark, geo-political undertones

I wish the worst for them and I use to not think like that. They are probably terrible people that will get exactly what they deserve.

Natural resources, it's best if we tell you how to run your country, been happening for decades why you think we always at war

These guys were tied into the coup leader’s son and the whole thing was amateur hour. If the CIA was trying to stage a coup, they wouldn’t have sent those chuckleheads.
So if it was them it would have been done like....the bay of pigs or the two dozen failed attempts on Fidel.....

They wont kill them or torture them, the US govt will run about 20 million through USAID (that was hillary's favorite honeyhole) and call it a day.
Any corrupt leader of a 3rd world country knows those two are bank for a back door payment to your favorite latin american bank. Paid by USAID, laundered through the Lat Amer Inter Monetary Fund, right to your Panamanian Offshore Bank Account.

Damone thinks these boys are Passport Bros, lol. Regardless, you would have to be an idiot to be in that area as an American.

You aren't making the point you think you're making. But that's okay, you don't know any better.
Internally driven coups are hard enough to pull off. Externally driven ones even more so. Probability of success is low, even for the pros.
Hence my original point.

Very likely they were roped in by the son, and IF (huge IF) they had any support from our IC, it was along the lines of "these guys are going to go for it; throw them a bone or 2 and see what happens - hell they might get lucky."
It was almost certainly not an op driven by our people (at least not in the “real attempt” sense).

If you think those 2 guys in the video are CIA, then this is nothing like those you mentioned.

Really? You could very well be right but I’m just having a difficult time believing that.

The CIA trained the exiles, and planned the mission. . .but they were not combatants

They’re human beings, and they probably understand 100% that 1) no one is coming for them, and 2) they’re likely going to undergo pretty extensive torture before they’re killed. So yeah, they’re groveling because they know they’re toast.
These guys might be CIA, or they might just be useful pawns used by the CIA.
But make no mistake, we’ve had a CIA presence throughout Africa for many years.
