I try and point out to my lib "no one is illegal" acquaintances just how shitty our illegal immigrant workers are treated. Another young illegal will replace you in a second if you aren't able to work anymore. They are disposable workers and most of the small outfits that hire them treat them as such. Silicosis from concrete dust at 40? "Who cares, just get one of the 20yo illegals to replace him". "Juan has a broken back from a roofing job? Never heard of him"

I don't want to live in a country where our citizen workers have to compete with literal 3rd world working conditions and wages.

Make them get green cards/visas and treat them just like you would have to an American worker.

BS! It still would require someone willing to show up to work, not be a drug head, and work hard.

Yep, a return to a mfg economy is the opposite of progress. Its not happening without subsides and immigration, both of which MAGA pretends to hate.

Wages are fine here. Far higher than the South.

The construction and agriculture industries did this to themselves decades ago when they relied on cheap labor instead of training the next generation of workers as was the standard well into the 60’s and 70’s

The honest companies that were not employing illegals will get some bids now.

Make no mistake, the “Mexican worker” phenomenon has less to do with low pay and a HELL of a lot more to do with work ethic. They’ll work an American to death.

Good luck. Going to have to double your project times.

Give them two weeks and if they dick off too much, fired. You’ll find people that want to work.

Based on what? Feelings? And here I thought the Free Market dictated wages.

They fixed that in Jamestown with, don't work, don't eat."

The able-bodied adults will be expected to contribute.

I suspect that if it's a real concern something will be done about temporary work visas and the process will be improved
and employees of companies that are actually building/manufacturing shite that we need will have their green cards and the U.S, will have their cheap labor

but they'll be less rapey and the families will live where they're from

Immigration under biden was similar to immigration numbers in the 1800s.
