Later retirement ages mean the job market is still tight for new college grads. Combine that already existing labor demand shortage with a flood of degrees that endue no practical skills, and you’ve got a sizeable number of new grads stuck in part time work and searching for protection. Cue the paternalistic nanny state, claiming to be here to save the day

The lack of self awareness on this board is hilarious. Most of you idiots are responsible for the generations that are bucking capitalism.

Don't worry, most grow out of the immature notions of socialism by their 30s. Your poll actually demonstrates it. Those that don't are stunted like teachers who sleep with their high school students.

I always wondered why capitalistic societies tend to transition to socialism in history.

Found this interesting article, from Huff Post nonetheless...

It basically comes down to the wealth gap which is a natural product of a capitalistic society. And humans trying to "fix it"

quote:

Critics point out that the free market system leads to wealth disparity, and then the supposed equality of individuals becomes a fiction, as wealthy people have abundant resources to coerce others, including the government apparatus supposed to protect equality. As a result, the social divide widens, as rich become richer and poor become poorer.

quote:

The mainstream thought is that privately run businesses are more efficient. However, the invisible hand of the free market is not trusted. People tend to believe that without government policies, the merciless chase of profit would bring back the ruthless exploitation of the weak and unprivileged.

It will be too late by then if they help usher in a socialist and totalitarian government

Most registered voters in the Harvard CAPS/Harris Poll survey — 65 percent — said that they believe that the U.S. economy should be built around a “mostly capitalist” system, compared to 35 percent who want a “mostly socialist” system.

But the survey also revealed a wide generational gap in views on the U.S. economic system.

Fifty-six percent of registered voters polled who are between the ages of 18 and 24 favored a “mostly socialist” economic model; 48 percent of respondents between the ages of 25 and 34 said the same.

Among respondents between the ages of 55 and 64, only 27 percent said they prefer a “mostly socialist” system. Even fewer voters 65 and older — 22 percent — said the same, the poll found.

The youngest voters — those between the ages of 18 and 24 — were also the most likely to say that the Democratic Party backs socialism, at 71 percent, according to the Harvard CAPS/Harris Poll survey. Conversely, 29 percent said they see the party as opposed to socialism.

Voters surveyed who fall in the 25-34 and 35-44 age groups were the least likely to say the party supports the economic philosophy, with 61 percent in each saying so. Thirty-nine percent said that the party opposes socialism.

As a whole, Democratic voters polled were largely split on the issue of capitalism and socialism. Fifty-one percent said they favor a “mostly capitalist” economy, while 49 percent said that the U.S. economy should be a “mostly socialist” one.

65% of registered voters favoring capitalism is way too low.

If you’re 20 and a conservative, you don’t have a heart.

If you’re 40 and a liberal, you don’t have a brain.

Or something like that.

Did you read the article? It actually explains the transition of societies quite well using various accounts throughout history.

If you don't agree, then state your opinion.

Too late? The libs aren't reproducing and the older generations are set to outnumber the younger folks for a while. They hit 30 and start to wisen. Been going on for centuries.

If this honestly scares you, and it absolutely should, read Ship of Fools by Tucker Carlson. He diagnoses the problem.

Intergenerationally, they are very divided. You are already seeing it in high schools. Baws are holding their own and libs are getting more aggressive. Unfortunately, MSM shades kids that defend themselves into literal Nazi youth groups. Their confrontations are going to be more physical than those in the past. The millennials that are Antifa/Proud Boys are going to be next level in 10 years.
