It took 10 years of wages to pay for the average house then. That’s would be a $156,000 home today. Doable in many markets until Biden’s inflation.

So the youngest boomers would be 32 when the youngest millennials were born? Sounds about right to me.

Of course the younger the millennial the more likely it is for their parents to be GenX but 32 is still well within child bearing age of Boomers.

Courtesy of the greatest generation. Then the boomers decided paddling was bad and cut discipline out of schools.

I think you are likely a good dude. Just misinformed.

I’m not a boomer.

I raised millennial kids. Most of my friends did the same.

My kids and their kids have boomers for grand kids.
Your beef is with shite prog gen z.

Personal responsibility and being blamed for problems that they have no control of in this nation is intertwined and not separated, that is the problem. You can be a responsible citizen but have no control over politics or the economy and get blamed for problems in these departments for whom they didn't create. That is what some posters are having a problem with. Get blamed for these problems and are expected to carry those burdens of corrupt individuals. You can only control what you have in life and that is all you can do.

Every generation has laziness and each one wants to blame the generation that comes after them. The old versus the young. Every generation wants to show its superiority and it is a never ending cycle.

Very possible given their age, but I (not a boomer) posted data on page 1 and nobody complaining about boomers wants to talk about it.

ETA In fact, I was called a boomer for daring to discuss election data

This argument would hold a lot of merit IF millennials were demanding policies that are different than their predecessors. But they aren't. They want EXTEND the policies that previous generations f*cked up.

Saying "the pervious generation messed up, so now it's our turn to do it worse!" isn't exactly a winning plan. Though I'm sure it's someone else's fault that the best plan they have.

Again, that's blame displacement. You think we have corruption and bad politics here? Try my buddy in Nigeria... but he took matters into his own hands instead of sayin "man, the government here sucks, I think I'll just sit on my arse, because they didn't tell me be successful".

For sure if you don’t think that you are entitled in your late 20s or 30s to live in a trendy neighborhood. But living in a small and older fixer upper house in a non-trendy area is beneath the standards of the pampered young adults in our modern society.

Yep. It's prettly clear. The "Boomers" trended more left than their generation. Millennials say they "messed it up for the rest of us".
Yet.. their response is... move FURTHER left than the "boomers".

If someone hasn't learned a lesson... it's them.

EDIT: Forgot to add "shut up boomer".

You’re doing shitty statistics.

Average new home build in square feet:

1970: 1500
2014: 2657

Home loans in 1970 weren’t purchased by Freddie Mac. Interest rates were 7%. Typical down payments were 10% and up.

The average car loan was for 3 years at 11% in 1970.

The more people are willing to finance, the more sellers will charge.

I'm not a boomer.

Boomers do stupid shite.

Millennials do stupid shite and want others to bail them out.

18 and over are adults.

You millennials need to start acting like adults instead of blaming other people for your stupidity.

And they all get to vote. Boomers don't get double votes unless they're dead and live in a Democrat shithole.

Yeah, if anyone gets screwed by voting demographics it's GenX. Boomers were a majority, and Millennials will be a majority. GenX will have like 3 years where they are the majority demographic.

I didn't get a paddling but a belt to the rear and the legs. After a couple of times of that, I made sure I didn't get a second serving.

Now when I was little I got a whipping at a place called keep and teach. All that I remember was I pulled my pants down and then here it came. I don't remember what I did and didn't understand why I was in trouble. I told my mother about it and she started yelling on the phone. She made sure that she would discipline her child and no one else. I never liked that place because I remember when nap time and everyone slept on cots. Someone was walking around with a fly swatter and if someone wasn't a sleep then they got hit with the fly swatter. I was scared and I went under the covers and remained completely still and hoping I didn't get hit.
