Well, yes but not really. Lots of rationing and banning of certain products being produced. (new cars as an example)
However, although he and his minions definitely WANTED a 100% command economy, they were backed off that by Bill Knudsen who convinced them that telling industry what the government wanted and how much and then letting industry go to work worked much better.
Which gave us Detroit becoming the arsenal of democracy.
FDR and his clowns wanted the war materials produced for basically cost. Well, no one was going to bust their arse for that. Using Knudsen's plan, allowing the manufacturers to produce what best fit them at a profit created an explosion of production along with continuously dropping expenses. Meaning a Sherman tank produced in 1944 cost far less than one produced in 1941.
The book Freedom's Forge is pretty decent about this period in history.

The government commanded production from heavy industry.
FDR wasn't even the worst of presidents though it took decade to recover. Wilson fricked up the country worse and his bullshite still hurts.

Well, it doesn’t, but you have a vague point. Hitler committed genocide against another race to aid his race. The left today wants to help a different race because they think their race has been treating that other race unfairly. Whatever you think of today’s leftists’ views on race (I think they are juvenile and mistaken) you can’t equate these two things.

Deflection and projection. If you can make the people think that everything you stand for is good and that everything the other side stands for is bad you’ve won the messaging battle. Democrats know they are the party of racism and bigotry so they try to cast that onto the Republican side. Who literally freed the slaves by the way.

For the most part they told industry what they wanted. The various industries produced what the government would pay for.
No industry was forced to take a contract.
Read the book. I'm not arguing with you about it as it's obvious from that quick quote you have no interest in being informed.

The prevailing thought of Nazism was that Jews had unfairly undermined Germany and the German people. That isn’t much different than what CRT peddles.
The end result is the same. One group gets scapegoated for the problems of the other group!nation. It hasn’t led to genocide (yet) but it has certainly led to violence and violent rhetoric towards whites being accepted.
